Despite the lack of clarity regarding its pronunciation, the GIF has left a lasting impression on our internet culture. As the first web-based looping video format it is now part of memes and the general vocabulary that we use every day in messengers and social media. It sort of started with the dancing baby in 1996 and Cinemagraphs are a subset of the genre. Apps: GIF Toaster, gifgab, Picoo camera, Cinemagraph app.
