Show Notes

On January 13th, 1996, nine-year-old Amber Hagerman was last seen alive while riding her brand-new pink bike in Arlington, Texas. Witnesses reported seeing a man in a black pickup truck abduct the young girl before driving away. Four days later, her body was found in a nearby creek. To this day, her murder remains unsolved. Her case shocked the country and ultimately led to the creation of the AMBER Alert.

Vice President of the Missing Children's Division at the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children John Bischoff explains how the AMBER Alert system works and shares how it plays a crucial role in aiding investigations of missing and abducted children.
