Show Notes
It's often said that family is forever, but what do you do when a family member commits a faithless act against you? After moving to Texas and starting a family, Clay Chabot's life was changed forever. When his friend, Galua Crosby was found raped and murdered in her own home, Clay was made a suspect in the investigation, despite no credible evidence being present. Clay's brother-in-law actually committed the crime, but testified against him, placing the blame on Clay.
Clay Chabot discusses his wrongful conviction and how he maintained his innocence for the 22 years he spent incarcerated. He shares the story of how he proved his innocence and later shares what justice means to him all these years later.
The Innocence Project played a role in Clay's case and assisted with the post-conviction DNA testing that led to his release.
