Gaby Dalkin | Chef, Food Blogger, Author, and Founder of What’s Gaby Cooking

Gaby Dalkin is a cookbook author, chef, entrepreneur, and writer. Founded in 2009, her website What’s Gaby Cooking established her as the go-to source for all things California, including delicious recipes, videos, and travel guides. After graduating from college, Gaby worked in fashion marketing and PR for less than a year before the financial crisis of 2008. Not sure what she wanted to do next, she pursued her passion for food and hospitality by going to culinary school and working as a private chef for two families while blogging on the side. As her audience grew larger and larger, she decided to jump into blogging full-time and published her first cookbook in 2012. In this episode, we chat with Gaby about her upbringing and how she developed her passion for food, what she draws inspiration from, how she developed her brand, and the inner workings of the cookbook industry. We also talk about what she’s been up to while in quarantine and the future of food and hospitality.
