Dr. Amanda McNeil is is not only one of our personal counselors who has helped us build a marriage we are excited about, but she a doctor of Psychology and Theology as well as having her own personal story of deep loss and grief. She recently released a book called "Overcoming the Overcast: Navigating the Storms of Grief with God", in which she combines groundbreaking neuroscience and deep biblical insight to help with navigating loss while holding both profound pain and true hope.
In this conversation we get into how our view of God's character can LITERALLY rewire our brain and how that then translates to how we process loss. We discuss healthy ways of navigating personal loss as well as what can be truly helpful if we are supporting a grieving friend.
