Show Notes

20% of sports fans believe that anti-LGBTQ+ language is harmless if it's just meant as "banter". That is the mentality that Stonewall seeks to challenge every year with their Rainbow Laces campaign - their annual day of messaging that sport is everyone's game! Ahead of the 2021 campaign Alex Manby spoke to Erin Williams, sport engagement manager for Stonewall, about this year's 'Lace Up and Speak Up' campaign, the impact that Rainbow laces are having on the acceptance of LGBTQ+ communities in sport and how Premier League stars like Jordan Henderson and Conor Coady has helped grow awareness around the globe.
