The Football History Dude · Sports History Network
Show Notes
This episode we fire up the DeLorean and head back to learn about free agency in the NFL. Last week we learned about the history of free agency up to 1992. Let's just say this was a good step forward, but the case that really broke open the free agency for players in the modern era was Reggie White vs. NFL. The ruling in the Reggie White case allowed many players to deal with any team they wanted to, but it still wasn't quite what the players had fought for. This episode explains the comprises from each side of the battle for player freedom. So strap on your seat belt, and let’s get ready to take this baby up to 88mph.
