The Football History Dude · Sports History Network
Show Notes
This episode we fire up the DeLorean and head back to learn about the man known as the NFL's Mr. Einstein and often referred to as the NFL's Unknown Hero, Hugh "Shorty" Ray. We were introduced to him in last week's episode covering the History of the NFL Official, but this episode we get to learn why he was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame. Many say President Teddy Roosevelt was responsible for saving football, but Shorty Ray was possibly the true mastermind for turning the NFL into the most dominant sport in America. So strap on your seat belt, and let’s get ready to take this baby up to 88mph.
