Show Notes

Good morning! I'm Aaron Jolly. And welcome to the Florida Weather Podcast. It's Thursday, February 26th. Grab that coffee and step outside. You'll feel 48 degrees across Central Florida right now. That's the kind of morning where you question your wardrobe choices.. Then remember you live in paradise. South Florida, you barely noticed. Mid 60s overnight. Must be nice. Now the good news. Sunshine takes over today and temperatures climb fast. Central Florida pushes to 79 degrees by mid afternoon. Tampa Bay lands right around 78. North Florida reaches 74, but you'll feel some gusty southwest winds up to 17 miles an hour. South Florida warms to 76 with a slim chance of a passing shower later today. Folks, one serious note. Those gusty winds and bone dry air are a bad combination. A Red Flag Warning kicks in from 1 P.M. to 6 P.M. across northern counties near the I-4 corridor. No outdoor burning today. Not even a thought. Tonight settles in mild. Lows in the upper 50s to low 60s statewide. Tampa Bay, watch for patchy fog rolling in after midnight. Friday is the headliner. Highs soar into the low to mid 80s almost everywhere. South Florida could flirt with 85 degrees inland. Moisture creeps back in, so afternoon showers and maybe a rumble of thunder become possible. Looking ahead, a weak front slides through Friday night into Saturday. That's when rain chances peak. Central and North Florida see the most action Saturday, though totals stay light, mostly under half an inch. Sunday dries out beautifully. Then high pressure parks itself over us early next week. Monday through Wednesday? Dry, warm, highs in the low to mid 80s. A few coastal showers could sneak in Tuesday and Wednesday, but nothing to cancel plans over. I'll be tracking that Friday front closely tonight. See you tomorrow with the latest. That's your forecast — we'll be back tomorrow.
