Show Notes

Good morning! I'm Aaron Jolly, and welcome to the Florida Weather Podcast. It's Saturday, February 24th. Folks, Florida woke up today and decided it's already summer. Grab your iced coffee because this one's a scorcher for February. Here's the deal. Central Florida is the main character today. Temperatures soar to 88 degrees. That's a full 10 degrees above normal for late February. The kind of warmth where your steering wheel burns your hands and you question every life choice that led you to wearing jeans. Winds gust to about 10 miles an hour by afternoon, but that barely takes the edge off. Slide over to Tampa Bay and you're seeing 84 degrees. Light winds keep it feeling pleasant, but make no mistake. This is pool weather, not sweater weather. North Florida hits 85 degrees with a gentle southwest breeze between 6 and 14 miles an hour. Tomorrow brings a tiny chance of a stray shower. Barely worth mentioning. Now here's the twist. South Florida is actually the cool kid today. Highs near 71 degrees with a steady southeast breeze at 5 miles an hour. If you're down in Miami or Fort Lauderdale, you'll want a light layer this morning. Wild, right? Air quality sits at moderate today, so sensitive groups might want to ease up on outdoor exercise. And here's a bright spot. We're gaining nearly 3 minutes of daylight every day now. Sunrise at 6:32 A.M., sunset at 5:20 P.M. Here's your heads up for the week ahead. The heat sticks around through Thursday. More sunshine, more above normal temperatures. If you were hoping for a cool front, keep hoping. February is doing its best April impression and showing no signs of stopping. One more thing. If this forecast made your morning a little easier, share it with a friend. It helps more folks find us. Stay safe out there. That's your forecast — we'll be back tomorrow.
