Show Notes
Good evening! I'm Aaron Jolly, and welcome to the Florida Weather Podcast for Saturday, February 21st.
Folks, here's the deal. Florida hit 88 degrees in Orlando today. By Monday morning? Thirty four degrees. That's not a typo. That's a 54 degree freefall in about 36 hours.
Right now, South Florida is living its best summer life. Miami and Fort Lauderdale are sitting pretty near 80 degrees. Soak it in, because tonight a cold front barrels south like it has somewhere to be. By Sunday night, Miami crashes to 51 degrees. That's a 30 degree drop that'll have you digging through closets for a jacket you forgot you owned.
Slide up to Tampa Bay and you're seeing the same story with extra drama. Rain rolls in from 7 A.M. to 32 degrees P.M. Sunday. Gusts near 32 degrees miles an hour. Then temperatures nosedive from 80 degrees to 44 degrees by Sunday night.
Orlando? Thunderstorms hit between 8 A.M. and 2 P.M. tomorrow. Then the bottom drops out. Forty degrees Sunday night. Thirty four degrees Monday morning. Your tropical plants are going to need a pep talk.
Up in Jacksonville, you're peaking at 86 degrees today. By Monday morning? Thirty two degrees. Southwesterly breezes flip to gusty northwest winds Sunday, dragging that cold air right behind them.
Here's what's coming your way this week. Monday and Tuesday bring the coldest mornings. Lows in the 30s statewide with frost possible inland. But Wednesday we bounce back into the 70s. By Friday, near 80 degrees again. Classic Florida whiplash.
One important note. Rip currents are dangerous along the Atlantic coast through Tuesday. Fire weather watches are up statewide with dry air and gusty winds. Bundle up and stay aware.
Alright. If you're enjoying these updates, share us with a neighbor. Word of mouth keeps this thing going.
That's your forecast — we'll be back tomorrow. Stay safe out there, folks!
