Show Notes

Good morning. Maine. I'm DJ Huzz. That sticky warmth you're feeling right now? Enjoy it. A cold front is sliding south across the state as we speak. and it's dragging rain behind it like a wet blanket. In the next 24 hours. The front is losing energy as it drops south. That means North Florida gets hit first and hardest. Showers and thunderstorms are already firing up. and by late afternoon, storms could pack gusts near 40 miles an hour. Highs reach 79 degrees before temperatures nosedive tonight. Saturday morning greets you at 58 degrees. That's a 53 degrees drop overnight. Central Florida, your turn comes this afternoon. Showers roll in around 1 P.M., then thunderstorms take over through tonight. Some spots could pick up one to two inches of rain. Which is actually great news for the drought. Highs hit 82 degrees today, settling to 62 degrees overnight. Over in Tampa Bay, clouds are already thickening. Storms arrive this afternoon. and the front stalls right on top of you. That keeps showers lingering into Saturday. Highs near 78 degrees, dropping to 65 degrees tonight. South Florida, you're the last in line. Mostly sunny with highs near 79 degrees. A slight chance of thunderstorms develops after 7 P.M. As the front creeps closer. Lows only dip to 71 degrees. Barely a inconvenience. Saturday gets interesting. The front parks itself across Central and North Florida, squeezing out more rain. Watch the east coast Saturday afternoon. That's where the sea breeze collides with the front. and a strong storm or two could pop with small hail. Now the good news. Sunday the front finally pushes out. Sunshine floods back in with upper 70s at the coast, upper 80s inland. Monday through Thursday stays mostly dry with breezy east winds. Scattered coastal showers each afternoon, nothing to cancel plans over. Temperatures climb into the low 80s at the beach, upper 80s inland. Charge your phone and keep an umbrella in the car this weekend. You'll need both. That's your forecast — we'll be back tomorrow. For the extended outlook, check the latest forecast as confidence improves. Stay safe, stay prepared. and enjoy the day.
