Good morning. Maine. I'm DJ Huzz.
Folks, if you step outside right now, you might think someone fast-forwarded the calendar. We're sitting at a warm 61 degrees this morning. and it held there overnight. Under partly cloudy skies, it feels like spring has crashed the party about three weeks early.
In the next 24 hours. But here's the catch. We've a Dense Fog Advisory in effect until 9 A.M. For inland areas. Visibility could drop to near zero, especially where smoke from recent wildfires mixes with the fog. If you're driving on I-53 or the Tamiami Trail, slow down and use your headlights. The fog lifts by mid-morning, giving way to a mostly sunny afternoon.
Down in South Florida, you're looking at a beauty. Highs hit 79 degrees under plenty of sun. You might notice some patchy smoke early, but expect a gorgeous day overall. Tonight brings a slight chance of showers after 7 P.M., with a low around 71.
Moving up the coast to Central Florida and Tampa, highs climb to 82 in Orlando and 79 in Tampa. Showers and thunderstorms are likely this afternoon and continue overnight. Some storms could be strong, with gusty winds. Rain totals could reach a half inch to three quarters of an inch. Tonight's low drops to a comfortable 62.
In North Florida, rain showers are likely to kick off after 8 A.M. Highs reach 79 degrees, but temperatures fall into the 70s during the afternoon. Rain continues tonight, with lows around 58.
Saturday brings more rain to Central and North Florida with highs cooling into the 70s. Sunday looks fantastic as the front clears out—expect sunny skies and highs near 80. Next week, we settle into a classic pattern. Breezy onshore winds develop, bringing a daily chance of coastal showers. Highs remain in the low 80s, which is above normal for late February.
