If you hunt long enough you're going to consider chasing after elk. It's just a part of the maturing process of a big game hunter. Planning such a hunt takes quite a bit of work. Elk are earned the hard way. You have to go into their country and weather their storms- literally. If you want to be able to stay on the mountain long enough to achieve one of the ultimate goals for every big game hunter, you will need the right gear that will allow you to stay there.
