When Australia arrived in Mumbai, the stakes were set as high as at any time in modern memory. Steve Waugh’s side were on an historic roll, but winning in India was one hurdle that hadn’t been cleared for an Aussie touring team since 1969. But the difference this time around was the presence of Adam Gilchrist. His staggering century changed the course of the First Test and set the tone for the rollercoaster ride to come.
