When fall comes around it's apple time—apple crisp, pie, applesauce, baked apples, all those yummy treats I can't get enough of. But if apples are a fall treat, why are we talking trees now? Because spring is the perfect time to plant them. And yes, you won't pick fruit this year, but like I've learned the hard way, getting them in the ground sooner means harvest sooner, 3-5 years instead of waiting forever. Today I'm sharing our story: planting our apple trees, the varieties we chose and why, and simple steps for you to do it too, even if you don’t feel like an established homestead yet.
