Show Notes

(00:00 – 23:00) – This show picks up where last show left off on the Rodrigo Blankenship conversation following his release from the Indianapolis Colts last night. Jake relays a personal story about how he managed to sneak a guest interview out of someone by pretending to be a rival station. Blankenship was invited to appear on the program and politely declined. Brief talk about Aaron Judge and Albert Pujols as they chase individual homerun records. A psychology lesson with Jake Query.

(23:01 – 27:46) – Morning Checkdown

(27:47 – 41:06) – New Colts kicker talk continues and Jake and Marc talk about the new Indianapolis signings, Chase McLaughlin and Lucas Havrisik. Jake comments that Havrisik comes in with a level of reliability from his college games. A few callers join the show to talk about Blankenship’s departure and the new signees.

(41:07 – 1:07:28) – Stephen Holder of The Athletic joins the show to talk about Blankenship’s departure and how the Colts will proceed from here. He is questioned by Marc on Chris Ballard and Frank Reich’s evaluation process. Holder discusses Adam Vinaterri’s relationship with coaches and fans as a Colts player. Jake wonders why the team did not bring in more competition for Blankenship if they truly were trying to find a new kicker in the offseason. Holder talks about how the stakes are much higher for this team this season even if it is a familiar situation to last season because of the amount of positions on the line.

(1:07:29 – 1:26:53) – Bob Kravitz comes on the program and give his take on the Blankenship situation. Marc asks if this was a Reich/Ballard call or if Irsay had a say in the decision. Kravitz then begins to break down the individuals performances of players and what it means to the Colts office going forward. Jake wants to know if Kravitz thinks that Ballard is tempted to call Ty Hilton. Kravitz is asked about any positive takeaways he may have seen in Houston. Lastly, any positive views he may have leading into the Week 2 matchup against Jacksonville.

(1:26:54 – 1:31:31) – We kick off the final hour talking about the entertainment district being developed in Fishers, Indiana and the impact it will have on the sports community in the greater Indianapolis Area. Jake likens it to the planned Andretti Autosport expansion near the Indianapolis airport.

(1:31:32 – 1:51:41) -  Jake begins the final hour recapping the current Alex Palou situation between Chip Ganassi Racing and McLaren Racing. He breaks down the history of all the drama that occurred over the last IndyCar season and how it has all sorted out up until today with what appears to be a contract misunderstanding on where McLaren would sign him to race.  Talk turns back to the Colts as we field more callers in regards to their Week 1 performance.

(1:51:42 – 2:01:20) – Pop Quiz

(2:01:21 – 2:14:29) – Closing thoughts on the Blankenship situation and the Indy Fuel moving to Fishers.
