Show Notes

(00:00 - 29:24) - Kevin and Query open up the Tuesday show with a recap of the Pacers loss to the Charlotte Hornets last night. Indiana lead by a large margin in the 1st quarter and slowly let the lead slip throughout the rest of the game. Jake gave a speech at the Indiana Officials Association banquet last night. The IU women's team and men's team each lost to Miami in their respective NCAA tournaments. This is the 10th time in tournament history this has occurred. The "arena" of college athletics has changed, not just due to NIL, but because players can now be more vocal in their desires to leave schools. There are some college coaching availabilities this year for basketball teams. Penn State's Micah Shrewsberry might be available, is he a fit for Notre Dame? Colts Free Agency has gone quiet in the second week.

 (29:25 - 33:26) - Morning Checkdown

(33:27 - 45:25) - Colts owner Jim Irsay like a tweet over the weekend about Indianapolis pursuing Lamar Jackson. The Colts have not rules out giving Jackson an offer, but have yet to take any steps towards signing him per Stephen Holder of The Athletic. How many years of prime Lamar Jackson are left and is it worth the money that Jackson is clearly looking for in his contract. Would it be worth it to run into a cap space issue as the Colts will likely want to extend Jonathan Taylor when his contract comes up. Right now Indianapolis should be looking to be on the upswing just as several teams in the league are approaching their down swing.

(45:26 - 1:13:41) - Indiana High School sports reporter for the Indy Star Kyle Neddenrip joins the show to talk IHSAA State Finals taking place this weekend at Gainbridge Fieldhouse in Indianapolis. The conversation starts with Neddenrip recalling Indiana players he covered that are now in the NCAA Tournament, like Florida Atlantic's leading scorer Johnell Davis out of Gary, IN. Ben Davis is currently on a history making run in Indiana basketball. They will face Kokomo, and if they win will achieve an undefeated championship season. Speculation on if Markus Burton is a lock for Mr. Indiana Basketball. This year the state tournament saw a change back to its original format. Regionals being one game and Semi-States having two games in a day. Neddenrip says that the change was not received too well this year but in time people will adapt to it.

(1:13:42 - 1:25:50) - A week into free agency for the Indianapolis Colts, Kevin and Query break down the new signings and how the Colts camp has gone silent entering week two. Is Gardner Minshew ANOTHER stop gap quarterback? What happens if we have to wait another year to acquire a franchise quarterback. Minshew checks a lot of boxes for Indianapolis and seems to be a sufficient starter for the start of the season. The guys are a bit disappointed in how Indianapolis has slowed down so early into free agency when there are so many holes that still need filled.

(1:25:51 - 1:33:57) - Callers start to join in the conversation on Colts free agency. A season ticket holder will not be renewing this season, another caller doesn't know why the team or Lamar Jackson would risk pairing up.

(1:33:58 - 2:01:17) - Tony East, the Sports Illustrated writer for the Pacers joins the show and talks about their unfortunate loss to the Charlotte Hornets and how it may eliminate them from a chance at playing in to the post season. East believes that the Pacers are playing a lot of young members right now not just due to team injuries, but as an audition for the future of the team. Nembhard and Nwora seem to be standouts to become key pieces of the Pacer's rotation next season. Both the backup centers in Jalen Smith and Isiah Jackson have faltered this season, according to East, and may have fewer minutes or become a higher trade piece next season. Can the Pacers intrigue Tyrese Haliburton to sign a 5-year max deal when his contract comes up. TJ McConnell was a passenger in a Rick Carlisle flown a plane to watch Xavier in Greensboro before heading to Charlotte for the game.

(2:01:18 - 2:15:30) - Pop Quiz

(2:15:31 - 2:20:46) - Closing conversation about everyone's bracket and how their picks have gone so far. The guys will also have their eyes on the finals of the World Baseball Classic.
