Daring To See Yourself in the World Through God's Eyes
All of us are born with a deep need to belong. We desire to be accepted just the way we are, with no strings attached. At times, all we receive is a counterfeit of belonging, an opportunity to merely fit in if we have something someone wants. God's invitation to us is not based on where we work, the family in which we were born, or how we look. All that matters is that God fearfully and wonderfully created us. He longs to have a relationship with each of His children. Have you asked Christ to make you a new person? When we do, we can say...I am God's child. "Yet to all who did receive him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God—" John 1:12 We are accepted by Him. God sees, knows, and loves us. He doesn't want to leave us where we are but to guide us to grow more like Him. I share 5 Tips on how to continue to grow, daring to see ourselves through God's eyes of acceptance and belonging. The end result of the Holy Spirit's work in our lives is deep and lasting peace. We have no need to fear the present or future when we have Christ's peace. Jesus says He will give us that peace if we are willing to accept it from Him. How Do We Rejoice in the Exciting Hope of the Christmas Story?
In a time of great darkness, God promised to send a light who would shine on everyone living in the shadow of death. He is both "Wonderful Counselor" and "Mighty God." The message of hope was fulfilled in the birth of Christ and the establishment of his eternal kingdom. He came to deliver all people from their slavery to sin. Could you imagine living in a time of despair and sacrifices with no hope of being saved? They had to work to gain forgiveness. Jesus came to earth to be the sacrifice for us. There is great hope in believing in Him. In our gloom and despair, we often fear that our sorrows and troubles will never end. But there is great hope in Jesus guiding and leading us through. Wonderful Counselor: He is exceptional, distinguished, and the one who gives the right advice. Mighty God: He is God himself. Everlasting Father: He is timeless. He is God our father. Prince of Peace: His government is one of justice and peace. Which of these names makes you feel hopeful? Join me for a 21 Day Challenge a Distraction Detox for the New Year
S1 Ep 135 Tips to Prepare for the Christmas Season
How do you prepare for the Christmas season? The considerable debate every year is when do you put up your tree? Decorating for Christmas was my mom's thing. She bought a tree. Then placed it in front of the picture window in our living room, which was only used at Christmas. There was an entire Christmas village, including a train under the tree. She went all out. My family attended church for Christmas but didn't prepare spiritually for the season. When I committed my life to the Lord, that first Christmas was so exciting because I knew the joy of the coming of Jesus. The anticipation of celebrating His birth. Listen to learn the 5 Tips to Prepare for the Christmas Season. For the next four episodes, I will be digging into the Advent themes. Hope, Peace, Joy, and Love. I hope you come back to listen. S1 Ep 125 Tips to Create Peace with Difficult Family Members During the Holidays
Do we all have stories of difficult family members? My brother used to pull up in the yard with the same question each holiday. "Who's fighting now?" There was always some scuffle between a couple or more of the family that only escalated during the gathering. My first instinct was to defend everyone. Then someone would turn on me, and I would run to a safe place. When it was me fighting with another family member, I would battle until the bitter end when one of us would leave, slamming doors behind us. It doesn't have to be that way! Make a plan to have a peaceful gathering. Billie's books
S1 Ep 127 Tips to Become a More Thankful and Peaceful Person
Most of the time I am a very happy and joyful person I see the goodness of God and feel pretty peaceful, then life happens. In the last couple of years, I've lost 4 people in my family. My sister and her husband, my brother then my mom. I found it hard to be thankful happy, and peaceful at times. As a believing Christian, I know to pray without ceasing, but sometimes when I don't get answers or my worries overwhelm God's wisdom, I get tired and frustrated. Have you ever been in a place where you have no peace and you aren't thankful or happy? Faith shouldn't die if the answers come slowly, for the delay may be God's way of working His Will in our lives. When you feel tired of praying, know that God is present, always listening, always answering, maybe not in ways you had hoped but in ways that he knows are best. Billie's books

How to Trust God When We Don't Understand
I'm going to be honest. I don't always know why things happen. Why do good people have to suffer? Why do children die? Why is that abuse? Why did a hurricane have to destroy my community? Why did I not have damage? I struggled before I dedicated my life to Christ, and I still struggle at times now. Going through seas of difficulty will either cause you to drown or force you to grow stronger. They are times to see purpose and opportunity. If you go in your own strength, you are more likely to drown. If you invite the Lord to go with you, He will protect you. Even if the outcome is not what you thought it should be. 5 Reasons Why Fixing Our Eyes on Jesus Helps Us Find Passion and Purpose
The Christian life involves hard work. It requires us to give up whatever endangers our relationship with God, to run with endurance and to struggle against sin with the power of the Holy Spirit. To live effectively, we must keep our eyes on Jesus. We will stumble if we look away from him to stare at ourselves or at the circumstances surrounding us. A passionate life flows from fixing our eyes on Jesus. He is the catalyst for everything, and from Him, purpose and passion flow through to His followers. Listen to learn the five reasons why fixing our eyes on Jesus helps us find passion and purpose.

S1 Ep 4Building Loving Friendships by Identifying the Types of Friends We Encounter
I've been doing a lot of thinking about friendships. I have some amazing friends, and then there are some I'm not so close with. Others cause drama that I can get caught up in because I want to salvage the relationship. Then there are friends that support you in everything you do. The best of friends support you and challenge you when you're on the path. It's really hard to determine who is going to be that kind of friend. And it's also hard not to retaliate or retreat when things don't go our way. My biggest problem is I think everyone should like me because I'm nice. God commands us to love one another no matter our feelings. He calls us to love our enemies, which is even harder. I've found there are different types of friends we are in contact with. Once I learned to delineate the types of friends I was able to love more like Christ. Listen in to hear about the four types of friends. S1 Ep 3What Advice Do We Need to Strengthen Christian Marriages?
At the ten-year mark of our marriage, we were broken. My husband was chasing his career, and I was chasing three boys. We were going in two different directions. I knew I needed to figure out who I was. I needed help. When we have an important decision to make or change, we can feel that we can't trust anyone, not even God. But God knows what is best for us. He is a better judge of what we want than even we are. The Hebrew word for trust means to lie down on-put your entire weight on something. Do you trust God in your marriage? For yourself? S1 Ep 2Can Women Overcome Social Comparison and Live a Fiercely Confident Life?
YES, you can!!! Social comparison is when we compare certain aspects of ourselves (e.g., our behavior, opinions, status, and success) to other people to assess ourselves better. Or, as I do too often, a worse assessment of myself. When my kids were little, I beat myself up so much because I wasn't as organized as the mom, who had seven kids and two dogs, but still showed up to all the games of multiple kids with makeup on and cute shoes! Then there was the mom who decorated cakes like those shows on tv now. She was so talented and always brought the perfect season-appropriate cakes decorated just so perfect. I thought those moms were much better than I was as a mom. I felt like I didn't belong when I was near them. Social media gets the blame for many issues, but if you are like me, I can find things to compare my life with at every turn. Comparison will steal your joy and leave you feeling unfulfilled. Be fiercely confident in who God has created you to be and where He has placed you! I have a free download that I think will help you during the week when you feel like you're completely done! S1 Ep 1How Women Can Gain Control When We First Feel Overwhelmed?
Welcome to the first episode of the family room. How Women Can Gain Control When We First Feel Overwhelmed? A little explanation of the name. In baseball, the family room is a room where we gather to do Bible Study, leave our kids with a babysitter, and chat with each other while we wait for our husbands after a game. It's a safe place to gather, just like my family room at home. I love to invite people in to spend quality time together. We juggle a lot of hats as women. During an argument with my husband, I yelled about all the things I do that get no recognition. I told him he couldn't afford to hire someone to do all that I did.
