In the Karen Reed case, Trooper Proctor, the lead investigator, faces a disciplinary trial on January 15, 2025, with potential termination on the table. The outcome could impact the retrial, as Proctor's handling of evidence is crucial. The Commonwealth may exclude the accident reconstruction biomechanical engineers from ARKA, who testified that John O'Keefe's injuries weren't consistent with a vehicle collision.
Dr. Russell's testimony that O'Keefe's arm injuries were more consistent with a dog bite than a car accident will be allowed, but the court noted she didn't compare the dog's dentition to the injuries. The prosecution has obtained molds of the dog's teeth and measurements of its paws and claws.
