Alex Murdaugh was making moves leading up to his global plea deal. He was scheduled to go to trial on November 27, 2023, and will instead be sentenced on November 28, 2023. In addition to his plea to resolve the state financial cases, he also had a win with Judge Newman voluntarily recusing himself from hearing the Motion for New Trial on the murder case.
Kouri Richins, who's accused of poisoning her husband with fentanyl, was back in court for a slate of hearings. Her attorneys had made a motion to dismiss the charges, accusing the prosecution of misconduct, while the court gave her a lot of room to argue the motion was denied.
Coach Monica, head coach of the Navarro College Cheer team who was highlighted in Netflix's series Cheer has been dismissed from a lawsuit and cleared by USA Cheer after a six-month investigation.
