Today’s episode is very special because I have my very first guest here on the Elementary STEM Coach Podcast. In this episode, I talk to Jen Sevy, a K through Five STEM teacher in Colorado. Jen shares with us how she implements engineering design sprints during her students' design challenges in a day. After I interviewed and found out I was going to be a K-5 STEM teacher and coach, I not only got the position, but I also would be getting a brand new remodeled classroom and a handful of supplies. When I first got started as a K-5 STEM teacher, I was given a brand-new space, a variety of tools and zero curriculum. Over time, I was able to build a foundation for this space that is rooted in systems and routines, test out those tools, and develop an engaging curriculum that uses a combination of STEM topics. Like so many elementary teachers who are getting started with STEM, I needed someone who has paved the way and share their experiences to help with my innovation journey.
