S14 Ep 196Yes, You Can Get Pregnant: Rewriting the Fertility Story at Over 35 with Aimee Raupp

In this episode of the Egg Whisperer Show, I sit down with my friend and fellow "Aimee," Aimee Raupp - bestselling author, fertility expert, and licensed acupuncturist who has spent over 20 years helping women around the world improve their fertility using an integrative approach that blends Western science with Eastern wisdom. Aimee has just released an updated edition of her landmark book Yes, You Can Get Pregnant, with modern protocols designed especially for women in their late thirties and forties. She also shares her own deeply personal fertility journey, including conceiving naturally at 40 and navigating a devastating miscarriage at 45. Together we dig into what's really driving the fertility crisis and it's not just age. We explore why the word "infertile" needs to be retired, how environmental toxins and chronic stress are quietly disrupting reproductive health, and why unexplained infertility is really just an unexplored diagnosis. We also talk about the powerful role of joy, nervous system regulation, and the latest research showing the ovaries are wired directly to the nervous system. Plus, we discuss cutting-edge options like ovarian PRP rejuvenation and how to create a "no regret plan" for your fertility journey. In this episode, we cover: Why fertility rates are declining even among women in their twenties and why it's not just about age The environmental toxins, endocrine disruptors, and nutrient depletion silently harming reproductive health Why the labels "infertile" and "unexplained infertility" are harmful and what's usually hiding underneath The role of inflammation, immune dysregulation, gut health, and metabolic stress in fertility challenges How joy, pleasure, and nervous system regulation directly influence hormones and egg quality Practical lifestyle shifts, lab work, and prep protocols for egg freezing and IVF Ovarian PRP rejuvenation: what the latest research shows and who it may help Resources: Aimee Raupp's website: aimeeraupp.com Yes, You Can Get Pregnant by Aimee Raupp (revised edition for 2026, now available): https://amzn.to/4s0vQfS Aimee Raupp on Instagram and TikTok @aimeeraupp The Egg Whisperer Show podcast on Spotify and Apple Podcasts Dr. Aimee's Supplement Stack information My Book, The Egg Whisperer Way comes out in Summer of 2026. S14 Ep 195Five Steps to Take After a Miscarriage

In this episode, I break down my "Angel Workup" - the five essential steps every person should take after experiencing a miscarriage. As a reproductive endocrinologist and miscarriage expert, I'm sharing the framework I created as part of my Miscarriage Revolution so you can feel empowered, informed, and ready to move forward. Read the full show notes on my website. This episode covers the A.N.G.E.L. workup: a comprehensive, step-by-step approach to understanding why a miscarriage happened and what you can do next. We talk about the role of age, autoimmune conditions, uterine anatomy, nutrition, genetics, endocrinology, and lifestyle factors. I also walk you through how to collect pregnancy tissue for genetic testing, why you should never blame yourself, and how both female and male partners play a role in preventing future losses. In this episode, we cover: The A.N.G.E.L. workup: Age, Autoimmune diseases, and Anatomy - including AMH, FSH, estradiol, antral follicle count, and uterine anomalies like septums Why nutrition matters for fertility and miscarriage prevention, including plant-based diets, celiac disease screening, and the HOPE approach for PCOS Genetic testing for both partners - karyotype, carrier screening, sperm DNA fragmentation, and pregnancy tissue testing using the Anora test How to safely collect pregnancy tissue at home for genetic analysis Endocrine factors like thyroid disorders, high prolactin, and diabetes that can contribute to miscarriage Lifestyle changes for both partners - BMI, alcohol, smoking, and "sperm bootcamp" Why self-blame after miscarriage is common but unfounded, and how testing can provide real answers Resources: The Egg Whisperer School: eggwhispererschool.com The Anora Test (pregnancy tissue genetic testing): anora test by Natera The Egg Whisperer Show podcast on Spotify and Apple Podcasts Dr. Aimee's Supplement Stack information My Book, The Egg Whisperer Way comes out in Summer of 2026. S14 Ep 194Egg Health: The Science of NAD+ Sirtuins - with Dr. Mark Ratner

I am so excited to share this conversation with you. In this episode, I sit down with Dr. Mark Ratner, Chief Science Officer at Theralogix, to talk about a topic I've become incredibly passionate about: NAD+ and its role in egg quality and fertility. If you've been wondering what NAD+ actually is, why your eggs need it, and whether supplementation could make a real difference in your IVF or egg freezing outcomes, this is a must-listen. We get into the science of how NAD+ and sirtuins work together in our cells, why their decline with age is such a big deal for egg health, and the emerging research — from mouse studies to a promising new human trial — suggesting that boosting NAD+ levels could improve fertilization and pregnancy rates. I also share a personal story about a patient whose results completely blew me away after she started NAD+ supplementation on her own. This is the kind of conversation that gets me fired up about the future of fertility medicine. In this episode, we cover: What NAD+ is and how it's present in every cell of your body The role of mitochondria in egg development and why eggs require more energy than any other cell What sirtuins are and how SIRT1 appears to regulate ovarian reserve How the age-related decline in NAD+ and sirtuins creates a "double whammy" for egg quality The connection between NAD+, chromosomal abnormalities (aneuploidy), and diminished ovarian reserve Key findings from mouse studies and a new human study showing doubled fertilization and clinical pregnancy rates with NAD+ boosting How to start supplementing and what to look for My Book, The Egg Whisperer Way comes out in Summer of 2026. S14 Ep 193Leaving a Legacy of Hope for Male Fertility with Dr. Ramy Ghayda

In this episode, I sit down with Dr. Ramy Ghayda, an experienced urologist and the Chief Medical Officer at Legacy, to dive deep into the world of male fertility. Dr. Ghayda brings his expertise in urology and male infertility to discuss why it's "always nice to have sperm on ice,"a phrase I say often because preserving male fertility is just as important as egg freezing. We explore Legacy's revolutionary approach to men's reproductive health, a digital fertility clinic that provides everything from at-home semen analysis and sperm freezing to DNA fragmentation testing, telehealth consultations, and nutritional support: all designed to fill the gap in fertility care that has traditionally focused only on women. Throughout our conversation, Dr. Ghayda and I discuss the alarming decline in male fertility rates over the past few decades and what's causing it; from environmental toxins and endocrine-disrupting chemicals to lifestyle factors like diet, stress, and sleep. We talk about why fertility should be considered the sixth vital sign and how infertile men face higher risks of chronic diseases later in life. Dr. Ghayda also shares his passion for breaking the taboos around male infertility, rebalancing the emotional workload in couples struggling to conceive, and helping men understand that they are 50% of the fertility equation. This episode is a must-listen for anyone interested in optimizing their reproductive health or supporting their partner through the fertility journey. My Book, The Egg Whisperer Way comes out in Summer of 2026. Click here to order yours on Amazon. In this episode, we cover: Legacy's comprehensive approach to male fertility, including at-home semen analysis, sperm freezing, DNA fragmentation testing, and telehealth support The science behind declining sperm counts and quality over the past 50 years and what environmental factors may be contributing How lifestyle choices (smoking, alcohol, marijuana, heat exposure, diet, exercise, and sleep) directly impact sperm production Why DNA fragmentation testing matters and how it can reveal correctable fertility problems The emotional toll of infertility on men and how to rebalance the conversation and workload between partners Why fertility is now being considered the sixth vital sign and its connection to overall health and longevity Practical steps men can take to be proactive about their reproductive health and support their partners Resources: Legacy's website: https://www.givelegacy.com Legacy's educational guides and resources on male fertility The Egg Whisperer Show podcast on Spotify and Apple Podcasts Dr. Aimee's Supplement Stack information Subscribe to my YouTube channel for more fertility tips! S14 Ep 192Does Sperm Really Matter?

Does sperm really matter? If you tuned into the conversation with Dr. Paul Turek and I earlier this week, you'll know that of course it matters! It truly does take both sperm and an egg to make a baby. Today I'll review the sperm question a bit, and explain why it matters. AND, I'll give you a lot more info about how to improve sperm quality. Here's the thing: I know that guys want to hear what they want to hear. They have selective listening. I'm not kidding when I tell you that I had someone email me recently and say "My husband's sperm tested out GREAT, and when we went over the results with the doctor we heard two different things. He thinks he heard our doctor say that it means he can just keep drinking, smoking, and enjoying marijuana and doesn't need to make any lifestyle changes. I heard something very different, which was that he should still cut back until we are pregnant. Can you help settle this for us?" And while it's an unpopular answer (at least with the guys), my response is: Men should cut back or abstain from drinking, and smoking (marijuana too) if you're TTC. My Book, The Egg Whisperer Way comes out in Summer of 2026. Click here to order yours on Amazon. Here are a few of the things I suggest to anyone bringing the sperm side of the equation to the baby making situation: - consider freezing your own sperm for future use when you are young. - get in the best shape of your life if you're trying to conceive. Sperm matters, and men's health is directly related to their sperm quality. - take some prenatal vitamins. Yes, really. Many of the same supplements that I recommend for egg quality also are great for sperm quality. - cut back on smoking, drinking, and drug use. Marijuana negatively impacts sperm. - don't cook your balls: avoid hot tubs, using your laptop on your lap, and other situations that may create high temps for the area. - find ways to cut back on stress, if you live a stressful life. Mindfulness and meditation are great for everyone. Read the full transcript and article about this at my website. Do you have questions about IVF?Click here to join Dr. Aimee for The IVF Class. S14 Ep 190The Most Important Thing to Know Before IVF with guest Dr. Max Ezzati

Preparing for IVF can be an emotional and complex journey, and having the right information beforehand can make all the difference. In this episode, I'm joined by Dr. Max Ezzati, a highly respected reproductive endocrinologist, to discuss the most important thing to know before starting IVF. Dr. Ezzati shares key insights about how patients can optimize their chances of success, the factors that influence embryo quality, and why understanding ovarian reserve is crucial. We also dive into the role of lifestyle factors, genetic screening, and cutting-edge advancements in reproductive medicine. If you're considering IVF or supporting someone on their fertility journey, this conversation will empower you with the knowledge you need. One important concept we discuss is the IVF pyramid, which illustrates how the number of eggs retrieved translates to the number of viable embryos. Not every egg leads to a healthy embryo, and understanding this process can help patients set realistic expectations about their IVF journey. In this episode, we cover: How to assess your ovarian reserve before IVF Why embryo quality matters and how it's evaluated The importance of individualized treatment plans How lifestyle factors, such as diet and stress, impact IVF outcomes The role of genetic screening in IVF success Common misconceptions about IVF and what patients should really focus on Read the full show notes on my website. S14 Ep 189I'm 40. Did 5 IVF Cycles, Got Dozens of Eggs, But Not a Single Normal Embryo. What Should I Do Next? (Ask The Egg Whisperer with guest Dr. Steven Palter)

Welcome back to Ask the Egg Whisperer! I'm so excited to have Dr. Steven Palter join me on today's episode. Dr. Palter is the medical and scientific director at Gold Coast IVF in Woodbury, New York, and an internationally recognized leader in fertility treatment. He's also the creator of the PCOS to Pregnancy Protocol - the first comprehensive remote system targeting the root causes of PCOS and the Palter Fertility Method, a personalized approach to diagnosis and care that integrates metabolic health, surgical precision, and emerging reproductive technologies. Dr. Palter and I don't always agree, and that's what makes this conversation so valuable. We get into the nuances of DHEA and testosterone supplementation, when genetic testing is worth it even with limited embryos, why your stimulation protocol might be the problem, and how targeting insulin resistance can transform outcomes for PCOS patients. In this episode, we cover: Why AMH predicts egg quantity, not quality and why that distinction matters The truth about DHEA and testosterone priming, including a major new study showing no benefit Mitochondrial replacement therapy (three-parent IVF): promise, limitations, and what the data actually shows Fresh vs. frozen transfers with diminished ovarian reserve, and why PGTA testing is still valuable The #1 reason for immature eggs and no blasts and the protocol fix that works 80% of the time Endometriosis, BCL6 testing, and when suppression vs. surgery makes sense How targeting insulin resistance and inflammation in PCOS patients is changing outcomes dramatically Resources: Dr. Steven Palter's practice: Gold Coast IVF — goldcoastivf.com PCOS to Pregnancy Protocol by Dr. Palter Previous podcast episode with Dr. Palter on the Palter Fertility Method Dr. Aimee's fertility supplement stack Would you like to learn more about IVF?Click here to join Dr. Aimee for The IVF Class. Gina Davis is the founder of Advocate Genetics and a co-founder of EM•POWER with Moxi, an education company dedicated to empowering choice in embryo donation. I'm so honored to have her joining me today on The Egg Whisperer Show podcast! Gina is passionate about impacting the growing field of genetic counseling, and has worked tirelessly to train new genetic counselors, and provide a strong foundation for fertility patients. A former fertility patient herself, she understands the challenges patients face as they try to make sense of the rapid advancements in genetics and fertility medicine, and works hard to help doctors and patients make educated decisions about their options. S14 Ep 184Sperm Health: A New Test from PS Fertility with guest Jeff Lysiak (PS Detect)

I'm thrilled to bring you this conversation about a breakthrough in male fertility diagnostics that's been literally hiding in plain site. In this episode, I'm joined by Dr. Jeff Lysiak, PhD, co-founder and Chief Science Officer at PS Fertility, to discuss phosphatidylserine (PS) and how this critical molecule on sperm is revolutionizing how we diagnose male infertility. Jeff shares the fascinating story of how his research at the University of Virginia led to discovering that PS on the surface of sperm is essential for fertilization and how traditional semen analysis completely misses this vital piece of the puzzle. Read the full show notes on my website. This episode addresses a frustration I've experienced for years in my practice: couples with "normal" semen analysis results who still have trouble when it comes to trying to conceive. Research shows that 20-30% of men with normal basic semen analysis could still be infertile, and we've had no way to identify them, until now. In this episode, we cover: What phosphatidylserine (PS) is and why it's critical for sperm to fuse with and fertilize an egg The major limitations of standard semen analysis (count, motility, morphology) and why 20-30% of men with "normal" results may still be infertile How the PS Detect test works using flow cytometry to assess over 10,000 sperm per sample The connection between varicocele and low PS scores—and how varicocelectomy surgery can restore PS levels to normal ranges When the PS test should be ordered in a fertility workup and what to do if scores are low Early data showing over 30% of men seeking fertility treatment have low PS scores, including those with normal semen analysis How this test can prevent women from undergoing unnecessary treatments when the male factor is undiagnosed Resources: PS Fertility website: psfertility.com PS Detect at-home test kit Nature Communications publication on phosphatidylserine and fertilization Dr. Aimee's Supplement Stack The TUSHY Method OVANAD+ by Theralogix. S14 Ep 183The Best Fertility Treatment Options

People seem to always be full of advice about fertility, and while most of it comes from a place of wanting to be helpful, not all of it is well informed or welcome. When you are trying to conceive, the last thing you want to hear is that you need to "relax." Or "go on a vacation, drink some wine, and let nature run its course." Am I right? In this episode, I'm sharing the types of treatments that fertility doctors offer to patients, including information about fertility pills, fertility shots, IUI, and IVF. I'm also outlining some of the natural things you can do to improve your chances of conceiving, like salt floats, hypnotherapy, and self care. S14 Ep 182Why Sperm Counts and Male Fertility Rates are Dropping: Count Down with guest Dr. Shanna Swan

Did you know that fertility rates have dropped 50% in the last 5 decades, and more and more people are requiring help to grow their family? Some are calling it "Spermageddon." I'm not one to run with fantastical headlines, but the truth is that we are facing an infertility epidemic. And, this is all heartbreaking for the people dealing with infertility, and for us as a society. Today, I'm honored to be joined by Dr. Shanna Swan on The Egg Whisperer Show to talk about this upsetting truth. Dr. Swan is one of the world's leading environmental and reproductive epidemiologists and a Professor of environmental medicine and public health at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai in New York City. An award-winning scientist, her work examines the impact of environmental exposures including chemicals such as phthalates and Bisphenol A, on men's and women's reproductive health and the neurodevelopment of children. She just recently published her book, "Countdown: How Our Modern World Is Threatening Sperm Counts, Altering Male and Female Reproductive Development, and Imperiling the Future of the Human Race." We will be talking about the data and information that Dr. Swan has gathered, the environmental factors that are playing a role, and what we can do to reverse some of the impact. I hope you'll tune in and share this information far and wide. CountMeIn on changing this epidemic - and thank you for writing your eye-opening new book, Dr. Swan. S14 Ep 181Egg Freezing: An Overview of IVF and Egg Freezing with Dr. Aimee (Hosted by Dr Ban)

Hosted by Dr. Ban, I'm sharing everything you need to know about getting precision fertility care.... in ten minutes. You'll hear all about the TUSHY Method, the specifics of the BALLS Method, along with the Egg Whisperer DIET and your fertility TEAM. There are many relatively easy and affordable ways to get smart about your fertility. We will never eliminate all of the unknowns, but we can take some simple steps to understand our body and how it may impact our ability to get pregnant. For example, there are sperm kits that you can get delivered to your home without even needing to see a doctor. There's so much technology available now to improve treatment outcomes. Yet, what I think is really important to note is that just because you see a fertility doctor it does not mean you want to do a treatment. I think that's a big barrier for people. What I tell people is to go see someone and get your TUSHY checked, get your sperm checked. Learn more about yourself so that you're not wasting time or money doing something that's not going to work. Read the full show notes on my website. Do you have questions about IVF and Egg Freezing? S14 Ep 180How Important is Embryo Quality?

I have patients that come to me from all over the world. There's one question I always ask when reviewing their IVF cycle history. What was your embryo quality? I hear time and time again from patients that they don't know it because their doctor told them embryo quality doesn't matter with IVF. That's simply not true! Just like diamonds in a jewelry store. Quality matters. Just like there is a grading system for diamonds, there is also a grading system for embryos. It's important for you to know that this exists and to ask for your embryo grade. When it comes to getting pregnant and IVF, the implantation rate is determined by the embryo quality and rating. Read the full show notes at Dr. Aimee's website.
