Session 268 Astral Travel and Sleepwalking Cats
Hey there, cosmic explorers and truth-seekers! Grab a comfortable chair and maybe a snack, because we’re diving into the deep end of the reality pool. Today, we’re breaking down Session 268 from The Early Sessions, Book 6 of the Seth Material, recorded on the warm evening of June 15, 1966.
This podcast is distributed free of charge on all major platforms for educational purposes. We’re here to get enlightened, have a few laughs, and maybe wonder if we’ve been sleepwalking through our own lives.
The Cosmic Level-Up: The Three Forms of Projection
Seth didn't come to play during this session; he brought a literal manual for astral travel. He explains that when we project our consciousness, we use different "forms," and they aren't all created equal.
- The First Form: This is the "beginner's kit." You can actually look back and see your physical body chilling on the bed. It’s comforting, but a bit limited.
- The Second Form: Things get a bit more intense here. You won't see your body on the bed, but you’ll feel a sense of "duality"—knowing you're in two places at once.
- The Third Form: This is the "pro-tier" vehicle of the inner self. Seth warns it’s the most difficult to maintain and even a bit chilling. He notes: "Your consciousness is far divorced from the physical organism, and it would be dangerous to stay away for any extended period of physical time. It would for example be quite possible to return to the physical body from this form, and not recognize it as your own." Talk about a "who am I?" moment!
Valid Projections vs. "Pseudoprojections"
Ever felt like you were a bird in a dream? Seth calls that a "pseudoprojection." It’s like a super-vivid VR experience where you explore a concept from the inside.
- Concept Feeling: In these states, you don’t just think about "oneness"; you are the variety of life. You don’t think what it’s like to be a bird; you momentarily are the bird.
- Why it Matters: Even if it’s a pseudoprojection, it changes you. Seth says this knowledge becomes part of your physical cells and electromagnetic structure. You literally "wear" the wisdom.
Psychometry and Family Secrets
During the session, Jane (as Seth) did some "envelope experiments" where she held sealed objects to pick up vibes. The accuracy was honestly a bit spooky.
- The Art Shop Notice: Seth picked up on a June date (June 10), a "V-shaped" pattern (the milkweed drawing on the card), and the letters "A-S" for the Art Shop.
- The Family Table: Seth "looked down" from above and saw Joseph’s (Robert’s) family, mentioning his brother Loren and a significant date in July.
- Don Wilbur’s Watch: Jane picked up impressions of a 1943 date, a "prickly" man, and a "small stupid incident" involving the purchase—which turned out to be the couple buying each other the exact same gift for Christmas. Classic.
The Mystery of the Nocturnal Walk
The highlight of the night? The mystery of why the cat was outside when the doors were locked. Seth, with his signature humor, spilled the tea on Jane (Ruburt).
- The Sleepwalking Incident: Jane had no memory of it, but Seth revealed she got up at 3 AM to put the cat out because it was annoying her.
- The Quote: Seth joked: "Someone in this household walked in their sleep, and opened the door... Our friend Ruburt... once more donned the clothes that he donned earlier... The dear little pussies annoyed him. He was too lazy, you see, to rise from bed. He wanted to sleep. He had his cake and ate it too."
