Show Notes

Session 204, November 1, 1965: Telepathic Paydays and Barroom Warnings

A wild ride featuring our favorite "energy personality essence," Seth, dropping knowledge on his friends Ruburt (Jane Roberts) and Joseph (Rob Butts), with their buddy John Bradley (whom Seth calls Philip) along for the spooky, humorous journey.

The $30 Intuition

The session kicks off with some high-fives for Philip, who managed to use his inner senses to sniff out a pay raise before the mailman even arrived. Seth confirms Philip wasn't just guessing; he picked up the news telepathically from his boss and even "saw" the letter clairvoyantly.

  • The raise turned out to be exactly $30 a month, matching Seth’s hit on the number "3" or "30."
  • Seth poked fun at the group, shouting, "This is a test. Testing, one, two three; if you will indeed forgive my attempts at humor."
  • The raise was cemented by Philip’s "outspoken actions" during a business meeting, where he clashed with his superior over gas and oil expense accounts. Seth noted that Philip's "airy attitude" actually helped his case.

The "No, No" Incident: Seth as a Wingman

In one of the more chillingly cool moments of the night, Philip asks about a mysterious voice that whispered "No, no" to him while he was chatting with a woman in a bar a month prior. Seth basically admits to being a psychic bodyguard.

  • Seth explains he projected himself to The Elms (a local joint) to warn Philip away from a woman named Judy Fuller.
  • Seth describes her "psychic environment" as "unhealthy and detrimental," claiming she was reaching out in a way that was "gluttonous and disastrous."
  • Seth quips: "For if I say it was my voice, then I was where I was not invited to be... Well, I try to be gentlemanly."
  • He warns that the woman would have used Philip as a "buffer" between her and another man (a car salesman/mechanic type).

Corporate Clairvoyance

Seth proved he could definitely handle a HR role by describing Philip’s sales division with pinpoint accuracy:

  • He identified a "short man, already beginning to bald" who was a top seller (later confirmed as Bill Driscoll).
  • He described a second top salesman: an older man with brown hair who wears glasses and plays "swinging" sports like tennis or golf (confirmed as Mr. Dudley).

The "Movie Plot" of Free Will

Seth dropped some deep, chilled-out philosophy regarding the future. He shoots down the idea of predestination, explaining that the future is just a series of "possibilities."

  • The Movie Analogy: Seth explains that looking at the future is like watching a movie. You can see the ending, but the characters within the movie still make their own choices.
  • The Power of Now: Seth says, "Every heartbeat is an action, and every action changes every other action."
  • The Dream Connection: He notes that "One dream can change the development of a personality," and that our subconscious is always aware of what’s coming, even if our ego is too busy stressing out to notice.

Dr. Instream’s Medieval Vibes

Seth also took a quick "trip" to check in on a Dr. Instream, picking up some vivid, almost cinematic imagery:

  • A book on a shelf, page 375, featuring hooded figures and a woman in medieval headdress.
  • Images of a castle, tall candles, and a "macabre" scene that felt like an opera or a play.
