Session 203, October 28, 1965: Cosmic Tea and Telepathic Gossip
This session isn’t just about the mysteries of the universe; it’s about friends hanging out on the floor, 60s-style. Jane (Ruburt) was sitting on the floor, smoking, and chatting with their friends, the Gallaghers, when Seth decided to join the party.
Telepathic "Spy" Games and Dr. Rhine
The evening kicked off with some spooky-cool revelations about how information travels when we aren't looking. Bill and Peggy Gallagher had just returned from Puerto Rico, where they met a physiotherapist from Duke University who knew the famous parapsychologist Dr. J.B. Rhine.
- The Invisible Mailman: Seth revealed that Bill (whom he calls "the Jesuit") had already telepathically beamed information about Dr. Rhine's character and foundation to Jane, even though neither of them knew it happened.
- The Prediction: Seth casually mentioned they’d get a letter from a Dr. Instream "within a few days" and suggested Jane and Rob write to Dr. Rhine themselves. Apparently, Rhine answers everyone—even the "crackpots."
- Seth’s Take: "There is constant telepathic communication... This operates with you both and Ruburt, and of course with me."
Office Drama and Local Politics
Seth isn’t just about the stars; he’s got the "tea" on local office politics, too. He warned Peggy (the "cat lover") about a situation at her newspaper involving a new coworker.
- The Ambitious Rival: Seth identified a "new Chinese girl" at the paper who wasn’t necessarily mean, but definitely ambitious.
- The Quote: "I think now of a woman who is eager, who intends you no harm, but who could convince herself that she was not harming you one iota while she stabbed you in the back."
- Political Spoiler: Seth also called the Elmira mayoralty contest, predicting their neighbor Howard Kimball would win, despite Seth not usually caring about human politics.
Survival Skills: Trance vs. Panic
Bill Gallagher almost drowned while skin diving in Puerto Rico. Seth’s advice? Use your brain to stay alive.
- Mind Over Water: Seth explained that Bill could have used a light trance to disintegrate the panic that almost killed him.
- Universal Tool: This isn't just for drowning; Seth suggested using the same technique for ulcer pain or stressful business problems. Just say: "I am now in a light trance state, and I will deal with the problem at hand."
Ancient History: The Inca Outposts
Move over, history books! Bill asked about ancient Indian villages in Puerto Rico, and Seth went full "Time Traveler."
- Incas in the Caribbean: Seth claimed the site was actually an Inca outpost. Apparently, the Incas were sea-traveling experts who explored as far as Florida.
- Lost Cities: Seth mentioned two highly developed Inca cities that haven't been discovered yet—one of them near Cape Horn.
The Big "God" Question
When the topic turned to religion, Seth got passionate, moving beyond traditional labels into what he calls "psychic gestalts."
- No Heaven or Hell: Seth tossed the traditional concepts out the window. "You could call hell a separation from the main stream of consciousness called God, but this is impossible actually..."
- The Ant Rule: Seth emphasized that everything is sacred. "And when you kill so much as an ant, so do you kill part of Him in most practical terms."
- The Core Message: "Hatred is death. All things are sacred, and every thought is a reality and has its own potential for creation and destruction."
