Show Notes
Session 196, October 6, 1965: Cosmic Radio and Cat Kibble
Welcome to the cosmic lounge, fellow seekers of the strange. It’s a wild ride through electromagnetic reality, dream telepathy, and why your cat might be side-eyeing your stress levels.
The Universe is a Giant Radio Station
Seth gets right to the point: everything is electromagnetic. Your thoughts, your dreams, and even the weather are all part of a massive, pulsing system of "inner communication."
- You’re Broadcasting 24/7: Seth explains that "no thought exists which does not exist within this reality." Your emotions aren't just "feelings"; they are literal electromagnetic charges that change your physical body.
- Weather or Not: These systems don't just sit there; they affect the weather and are affected by it. It’s a "constant inflow and outflow."
- The Science of Vibes: Emotions cause "specific electromagnetic changes within the physical organism." Basically, you are a walking, talking science experiment.
Dreams: The "Always On" Reality
Seth drops a truth bomb that dreams are running in the background of your mind even while you’re doing your laundry.
- The Waking Dream: Seth notes: "It may be well to remember here that dreams exist even for an individual in the waking state, though he is not aware of them. His mind continues this activity even while the conscious self goes about its daily chores."
- Telepathic Tinder: Dreamers connect via telepathy not necessarily because they know each other, but because of "emotional attraction." You’re essentially tuning into someone else’s dream frequency because your "electric code" matches theirs.
- The Inner Self is the DJ: While your ego is busy worrying about bills, your "inner ego" is managing all this crazy data, keeping your identity intact while you're open to a billion different communications.
Cat Health and December Doldrums
Even the most advanced entities care about the household pets. Seth takes a break from the deep physics to give some practical advice to Jane (Ruburt) and Rob (Joseph).
- Willy the Cat’s Diet: The cat’s bouts of illness were partly due to a specific food (liver and fish, which Jane already suspected) and partly because the cat was soaking up Jane’s stress over her ESP book publisher.
- Psychic Sponge: Pets reflect the "psychic health and concerns of their owners." If you're stressed, your cat might feel it in its gut—literally.
The "Envelope" and "Ad" Tests
To prove the point, they did some psychic testing.
- The Furniture Label: Rob used a brittle, brown piece of an old furniture label from a bureau. Jane picked up on a "Florida connection" and a woman who lived in their apartment previously.
- The Zenith Stereo Ad: In a separate test with their friend Bill, Jane and Rob picked up details about an ad Bill was working on. Jane correctly identified a "sudden turn" Bill made in the building and that he went "upstairs" (which she didn't know).
- Rob’s Trance Hits: Rob, in a light trance, correctly visualized the ad layout as "4 columns" (the original plan) and a "large fat man" (the stereotyper) who was handling the plates.
Closing Words of Wisdom
Seth reminds us that dreams aren't "pseudorealities"—they are facts in a different dimension. They change the course of human events more than we realize.
As Seth says: "These apparent inspirations from nowhere definitely come from somewhere, and this somewhere is that inner dreaming condition, which is a necessity on the part of every consciousness, human or otherwise."
