Session 189: Cosmic GPS, Dream Cocktails, and Spy Games
Welcome to the breakdown of Session 189 from The Early Sessions Book 4 of the Seth Material, recorded on the humid night of September 20, 1965. This deep dive is credited to the Seth Material and the publisher, New Awareness Network. Grab a drink, relax, and let’s look at what our favorite "energy personality essence" had to say about the weird ways we build reality.
The York Beach "Coincidence" (Cosmic Tag)
It turns out there are no accidents in the Seth universe. Dr. Instream and his wife Judy ended up at York Beach on the exact same night Jane used a photo of York Beach for a clairvoyant test. Seth basically called them out for a subconscious meetup.
- The Instreams didn't just "decide" to visit York Beach; they were picking up on Jane and Rob's "electrical reality."
- Seth notes: "Neither was their visit a complete coincidence, although it might seem so. All experiences have an electrical reality."
- Jane (Ruburt) was the emotional link that bridged the distance between the two couples.
Building Dreams with Chemical Leftovers
Seth dropped some knowledge on how we actually construct our dreams and physical materializations. It’s less about magic and more about a very specific chemical cocktail and "delicate imbalances."
- Dreams are essentially DIY projects made from your body's "chemical excesses" built up during the day.
- Seth explains: "Dream images are composed in part as a result of chemical excesses that are built up normally by the organism in the waking state."
- Physical materializations (the spooky stuff) happen when you artificially or spontaneously crank those chemical imbalances to eleven.
- Your "inner vitality" meets physical matter at the meeting ground of the protoplasm.
The Energy Pool: Vibe Sharing
Ever wonder why group sessions feel different? Seth says we’re basically pooling our psychic batteries.
- Visitors at a session can provide a "psychic refreshment" because the energy gets pooled together.
- Music and leisure activities help the conscious mind step aside so the intuitions can do the heavy lifting.
- You aren't stealing energy when you use a collective pool; your own actions actually generate even more. It’s the ultimate renewable resource.
The 10 PM Spy Mission (Clairvoyant Test)
At 10:00 PM, Seth decided to check in on what Dr. Instream was doing in real-time. It was a bit like a psychic "Where’s Waldo?"
- Seth caught impressions of Dr. Instream standing on a small terrace, potentially wearing slippers or "slipperlike" shoes.
- He spotted two men—one formal—and a chair with a blue seat cover.
- There was also a mysterious mention of the number "218," which could be a page number or an address.
The "Adult Time" Envelope Test
Jane performed a test with a sealed envelope containing a page from her old, unpublished novel, The Adult Time. Seth did some psychic skimming:
- He correctly identified "two people" and "a fall" (the word "fall" actually appeared on the page).
- He picked up on "rubber," which Rob figured out was the rubber band holding the manuscript together in the file drawer.
- Seth says: "The material on our own test this evening came through as a literal translation of concepts in the script."
