Show Notes

Session 183, recorded on the night of August 30, 1965.

Psychic Space, Dream Labs, and Mesopotamian Cameos,

Grab a coffee, relax, and let’s explore how reality is way more "fluid" than your morning commute suggests.

Emotions: The Architects of Psychic Space

Seth kicks things off by explaining that while your feelings don’t take up physical room, they are basically the furniture of your "psychic space."

  • Psychic Real Estate: An intense emotion fills up your inner environment. When it’s strong, it becomes the "PRESENT" in capital letters.
  • Time Travel via Feeling: Strong emotions knock down the artificial barriers of past, present, and future. When you revitalize a charged emotion, that "now" is literally re-created.
  • The Color of Intensity: Seth mentions that colors have electrical connotations. Red is "immediate," while cool colors are "contemplative," leaving more room in your psychic space for other experiences.

The Dream State: Your Personal Problem-Solving Lab

Why do we dream? According to Seth, it’s not just for weird imagery; it’s where the real work gets done.

  • The Shakespeare Connection: Seth gives a hilarious nod to the Bard: "The dramas are not true to life in physical terms, but are true to life in psychic terms."
  • The Subconscious Computer: Think of your ego as the guy who handles the physical mail and the subconscious as a high-powered computer.
  • How to Solve Problems: The ego's job is to define a problem clearly and "feed it to the subconscious" before sleep. The inner self then uses a "vast information" bank from this life and others to find a solution.
  • Primary Reality: Dream events are actually primary. We manipulate situations in the dream reality first, then transpose those methods onto physical life.

Psychic Energy and Social Interactions

Seth gets into the "vibe" of dealing with people, specifically "Mark" (Bill Macdonnel’s entity).

  • The Energy Exchange: Dealing with "weaker" personalities shouldn't drain you. If you’re unresentful, you actually gain psychic energy through the interaction.
  • Renewal: If your abilities were fully developed, you’d be so "renewed in any encounter" that the idea of being drained wouldn't even come up.

The Mystery of the Painted Face

Earlier that day, Rob (Joseph) had a vision of an older man while painting. Seth dropped some ancient lore on him:

  • Ancient Acquaintance: The man was a teacher and a relative from a life in Mesopotamia during the 4th century BC.
  • The Seth Entity: Seth clarifies that "Ruburt" (Jane) was actually named Seth in that Mesopotamian life. Jane is an "extension and materialization" of the Seth entity from that time.

The Calendar Test: Seeing Through Walls (and Paper)

Rob tried to sneak in a "cut and dried" test using a double-folded calendar clipping from April 1965. Seth nailed it, even seeing things on the back of the paper that Rob wasn't focusing on.

  • The Hits: Seth correctly identified the number five, buildings, a yard, a road, and the color blue.
  • The Flip Side: While Rob looked at the calendar numbers, Seth "traveled through the thickness of the paper" to describe the house drawing and floor plan on the other side.

Final Thoughts from the Session

Seth wrapped up by encouraging Rob and Jane to study the material carefully. It’s practical, it’s deep, and it’s meant to be used.

  • Quote of the Session: "Inner experience is the only true dimension of existence."
