Reality Check: Dreams, Rockheads, and Psychic Vibes (Session 115)
Grab a drink and chill out, because we’re diving into some deep cosmic territory. This briefing covers the highlights of Session 115 from The Early Sessions, Book 3 of the Seth Material, recorded on December 16, 1964.
In this session, Seth (channeled by Jane Roberts) breaks down the "dream universe" and why our physical world is just a small piece of the puzzle. Jane was in a high-energy mood, speaking loudly and smoking while Seth cracked jokes and dropped knowledge bombs.
The "Reality" Reality Check
Seth starts off by basically telling us we have no idea what "real" actually means. We think if we can't kick it, it’s not there. Seth disagrees.
- Reality is huge: Our definition of reality is tiny. It excludes way more than it includes.
- Non-physical stuff is legit: Ideas, dreams, and psychological experiences are "indisputable realities." Just because they aren’t made of atoms doesn’t mean they don’t exist.
- The "Rockhead" Theory: Seth jokes that dream locations aren't stored inside your physical brain. As he puts it: "How could your small skull hold a replica of a cement building, for example, even though the skull might be a rockhead? You need not take that remark personally, Joseph. I couldn’t resist making it, however."
- Durability: Dreams might seem "insubstantial," but they actually last longer and have more impact on the universe than a wooden chair.
History as a Dream-Interchange
This is where things get a bit spooky and cool. Seth explains that the dream universe and the physical universe are constantly trading "gifts."
- The Crucifixion and Ascension: Seth says these weren't physical events in our timeline. They originated in the dream universe as "gigantic realities" that influenced the world more than any physical act ever could.
- The Gift of Fire: On the flip side, physical man discovering fire was a gift to the dream universe. Humans dreamed of fire, enriching that other dimension.
- Independence from Matter: Events like the Ascension were "contributions" from the dream world to show humans that we aren't stuck in physical matter forever.
Imagination: The Cosmic Hotspot
If you're wondering how to connect to this dream world, Seth says the answer is your imagination.
- The Bridge: Imagination is the "waking man’s connection with the universe of dreams."
- Energy Direction: Ideas and concepts are non-physical magnets. They attract and concentrate unaligned energy into our world.
- Breakthroughs on Standby: Seth notes that many life-changing inventions are just waiting in the dream world. They stay there until someone is brave enough to accept them as "possible."
- The Ego’s Insecurity: Why do we doubt this stuff? Because the ego is a bit of a scaredy-cat. It wants a world it can control, so it fights off new, "dreamy" ideas.
The Paperboy Interruption
Even cosmic sessions have "real world" moments. At 9:15 PM, the paperboy knocked on the door. Jane snapped out of her trance to joke with him and pay for the paper before slipping right back into Seth-mode. Talk about multitasking!
