Show Notes

Session 103 dated November 2, 1964, catches our favorite discarnate personality, Seth, in a particularly "capering" mood.

This podcast is distributed free of charge on all major platforms for educational purposes. We give all the credit to the Seth Material and the publisher, New Awareness Network. If you want the full, unadulterated experience, head over to sethcenter.com/the-early-sessions to grab the books.

Scheduling the Spontaneous

Seth kicks things off by talking about the "rigid schedule" he keeps with Jane (whom he calls Ruburt) and Rob (Joseph). Apparently, even in the afterlife, you need a calendar. Seth wants to eventually move toward a "spontaneous framework" to catch Jane at her psychic "high peaks," but he warns that being spontaneous actually takes more discipline than a fixed schedule.

"This kind of procedure, while appearing less disciplined, would in actuality require added discipline, since this would be necessary to avoid the imbalance of either too many or too few sessions."

The "Spiritual Buzz": Wine and Dissociation

Ever felt tipsy without having a drink? Jane frequently felt like she’d had a few too many after a session. Seth explains that the state of dissociation required for their communication is the same state people try to reach with booze—except Jane gets there naturally.

Seth’s take on social drinking is legendary. He isn't a prude, but he is practical:

"Indeed a judicious (underline judicious) use of wine is somewhat beneficial, but never to be overdone... If [Ruburt] had truly that much, he simply would not be capable of a session, even if I were idiotic enough to agree to one. And I assure you that I would not be."

Creative Gains and "Value Fulfillment"

Seth isn't just about the spooky stuff; he’s a fan of professional development. He notes that both Jane’s writing and Rob’s painting have leveled up because of their "inner freedom." Rob even mentions solving painting problems "almost effortlessly" that had bugged him for years.

The big takeaway? "Value fulfillment is the only true practicality." Forget the grind; focus on the soul’s growth, and the sales will follow.

The Great Psy-Time Adventure

The session notes also include Jane’s wild "Psychological Time" experiment from November 4. She describes feeling the bed disappear into "holes of nothingness" and a "whoosh" out of the top of her head.

Later, while walking to the store to mail a manuscript, she felt so light she thought her lower body had dissolved. She was worried she was just a "chest, shoulders, and head" floating down Church Street! She even had a mini-revelation:

"Atoms and molecules etc. are our names for the stuff of which we compose our images or transpose them into apparent validity."
