It’s popular to take kids on dates, but if you look at the bigger picture historically, it’s a fairly recent/trendy activity.
Dates with our kids can be fun, memorable, and meaningful, but we have to be careful not to make them a gold standard of parenting. They can serve a purpose, but are they necessary?
