In August 2017, Nick Ashhill was 81 punishing days into his run from one side of America to the other- LA to NY- doing around 50k every day.
He didn’t finish the run though. He was the victim of what he reckons was a deliberate hit and run accident from some meth head in a pick up truck that left him fighting for his life.
16 surgeries and 5 years later, Nick went back to the spot of his accident to finish what he started.
This is definitely one for the running nerds. But I reckon its also just a pretty interesting story about an ordinary kiwi whose done some pretty extraordinary stuff despite some serious big hurdles to overcome.
