After winning an Olympic gold medal for rowing in 2012 Joseph Sullivan found himself lost and in a bleak mental head space after he was pretty much shafted by rowing NZ, the organization and sport he had devoted a large chunk of his life to.
In this clip, he talks about how he ended up finding his purpose again by joining the NZ fire service.
Joseph is still a fire-fighter. And has also gone on to win two Americas Cup’s as a grinder for Team New Zealand.
