Run for your life! A very packed episode this week. First up is an interview with Alex Day, musician and pioneer of Trock, Time Lord Rock. We talk about the whole Trock movement, and listen to a few of Alex’s tracks. Next up is an interview with Peter Jewell, who has emptied his cupboard of all his Doctor Who memorabilia and put them on display for all to see. Trevor talks with Peter about collection, collections and what to collect. Last up this episode is a piece we couldn’t quite squeeze into last weeks Big Finish review ep. In response to a listener email the team lay their cards on the table and talk about their favourite Big Finish audios, and the audios a new listener needs to get their ears around, pronto!

Does my backside look big in this kilt? With no new Doctor Who to keep us busy, thank goodness that Big Finish keep providing us with audio releases to delight our ears during these lean months. The team focuses their attention to reviewing three audios that saw the return of Jamie McCrimmon to the Doctor Who universe. City of Spires, Wreck of the Titan and Legend of the Cybermen. We also have a fantastic interview thatJames conducted with Barnaby Edwards. Whilst he talks about his involvement with this trilogy, he also shares some hightlights of his extensive CV. We would put a copy of his CV up for you to look at, but it would overload the internet.

When in doubt, geek out! Tom and Trevor are in the caravan this week and thought it was time for the DWP to start one of their quite famous geek outs. We did then quite a lot back when we were with the DWO WhoCast, so it only seems fitting to start them on the DWP. We discuss the recent release of the Creature from the Pit DVD, the Doctor Who proms, and just what is a companion? We also try and stump each other with some devlishly difficult Doctor Who quiz questions.

Tom finds himself alone in the campervan this week and takes the opportunity to blow the dust and cobwebs off an interview he recorded at the Fab Cafe event in Manchester in June. Fab Cafe is a wonderful little bar/convention location which occasionally plays host to guests from the world of Doctor Who. Tom was lucky enough to speak to a few of the guests, and it is our pleasure to present more in this episode of the DWP. Check out Episode 18 of The Doctor Who Podcast for more from this event. In this ep Tom talks to Ryan Hendrick, who is the driving force behind a superb new fan film, Besieged. Tom talks with him about how he put it together, and some promising news for the future.

Yes, stuff has happened in the Doctor Who world that doesn’t involve Matt Smith! We have ignored the news over the past few months or so whilst we concentrated on Season 5, so we rectify that with this episode. We bring you all the news thats fit to print, from the worlds of Sarah Jane Smith, Torchwood, Big Finish and a little show called Doctor Who.

Part 3 available… not! Trevor and James go it alone in the campervan this week and finish their exhaustive at the latest season of Doctor Who. We cover many topics. from the kids perspective on the season to just how hot is River Song? The big issues are covered in this episode, yes siree!

Luke from theMinute Doctor Who Podcast joins the dynamic duo in their review of this story. In other news, The Doctor Who Podcast is also happy to announce the upcoming release of a fantastic new book from the bods atMad Norwegian Press. Running Through Corridors is a three volume series by Rob Shearman and Toby Hadoke. Rob and Toby spent 2009 watching Doctor Who, two episodes a day, every day. Every episode from Ian Chesterton’s wonderment at the TARDIS in 1963 all the way through to David Tennant’s swan song on New Years Day 2010. Running Through Corridors is a journal of that experience. Volume 1 of this series is being released in December 2010. The DWP will be featuring interviews with Rob and Toby as well as reviews of the book over the coming months. I am suddenly in the mood for a steak sandwich… It is our great pleasure to have Robert from the Doctor Who Review Today podcast in the campervan to discuss the fan reaction to The Hungry Earth. We play your feedback, as well as a special plea from our good friend Michael at the Tin Dog Podcast.

Hungry!… oh dear, that brings back some painful memories… Tom and Trevor put their feet up on the Campervan china hutch and discuss their thoughts on The Hungry Earth, which sees the return of the Silurians to our screens after an absence of 26 years.

Doctor Who is fabulous A couple of weeks ago Tom got a day pass from the DWP campervan and went on a bit of a field trip. He visited beautiful downtown Manchester to take part in the Fab Cafe event being held there. Fab Cafe is a wonderful little bar/convention location which occasionally plays host to guests from the world of Doctor Who. Tom was lucky enough to speak to a few of the guests, and it is our pleasure to present some of these interviews in this episode of the DWP. First up is Rob Shearman, most notably the writer of the episode that brought the Eccleston Doctor face to face with the Daleks. He has also written for Big Finish and recorded audio commentaries for the official DVD box set releases. Tom also spoke to Charlie Ross, who has provided many extraordinary character voices for the Big Finish range.

Tom, James and Trevor are in the caravan (all at the same time!) to review the latest episode, Amy’s Choice. This is an episode not to miss, as it turned out to be a very lively and entertaining conversation about this most interesting of episodes.

The fan reaction to Vampires in Venice is on our mind this episode, and joining us in the DWP Caravan is Simon from theWaffle on Podcast. Simon, James and Trevor look over what the you thought of the episode. We also play the feedback from the DWP listeners and their thoughts on this episode.

They aren’t all evil, you know Big Finish recently released a fantastic trilogy of audio dramas, loosely called the Klein Trilogy. They all share a common character, Klein, a Nazi officer, who was first introduced in the Seventh Doctor audio, Colditz, released in 2001. The character is back for this trilogy, and the Doctor Who Podcast has a look at these releases – A Thousand Tiny Wings, Survival of the Fittest and The Architects of History. James provides some background to the Klein character and reviews Klein’s first story, Colditz, whilst Tom and Trevor talk about the recent trilogy. Trevor also had the chance to chat with John Ainsworth and Alex Mallison, two of the creatives involved with this trilogy.

Lucky they didn’t land in the Australian outback… Vampires. Rory. Amy. The Doctor. Pick which one of these is not in the latest episode the Doctor Who Podcast boys are reviewing this week – Vampires of Venice. Trevor and Tom mull over their thoughts on this excitingly soggy adventure in beautiful Venice. The Myths and Legends box set also gets a look over. Contained within are the stories The Time Monster, Underworld and Horns of Nimon. Worth the purchase? Find out in this ep!

The multi-talented songstress Laura from the most superb Oodcast Podcast join Tom in the DWP Campervan to look over the fan reaction to the finale to the two part story – Flesh and Stone. Laura and Tom sift through the forums and message board reaction to this story, and also play listener feedback. Once you have listened to this episode, you wouldn’t go far wrong by dropping over to the Oodcast website and sampling their wares. It’s worth the journey.

Not so much an interview, but an entertaining and free-wheeling chat with the man who lays his geekness bare on stage each night for all to see. Join Tom as he chats to Toby about a number of interesting, and surprising subjects.
