In recent days, the disputes between the European Commission and the Polish government have escalated, with Brussels threatening to impose sanctions on Poland, and Warsaw accusing the Commission of blackmail. The relationship is so tense that some members of Poland’s opposition have accused the government of trying to leave the European Union.
