דעֶר צֶמַח צֶדֶק האָט געֶזאָגט ר' העֶנדל'ן אוֹיף יְחִידוּת
The Tzemach Tzedek once told R. Hendel [Kugel] at yechidus:
זוֹהַר אִיז מְרוֹמֵם דעֶם נֶפֶשׁ
“[Studying] Zohar uplifts the soul, .
מִדְרָשׁ אִיז מְעוֹרֵר דאָס האַרץ
[studying] Midrash arouses the heart,
אוּן תְּהִלִּים מִיט טרעֶרעֶן וואַשׁט אוֹיס דִי כְּלִי
and [reciting] Tehillim with tears washes out the vessel.”
