The Dept. of Education has a proposal out that will deem nursing not a "skilled profession." Among the consequences of this "gem" are the fact that nursing education past the BSN level will no longer be eligible for student loans(!!).
Congressional reps didn't even know this was happening - Let's make them aware! With a shortage of 300,000 nurses right now, and a need for more Nurse Practitioners, Clinical Nurse Specialists, Nurse Midwives, Nurse Anesthetists (sorry Dana...that one can be a tongue twister), and nurse leaders & researchers, NURSES ARE A SKILLED PROFESSION.
