Ep 24Preparing For Disaster: What You Need to Know - DDG E24
ELet's talk about surviving! Today Wesley from Superesse Straps joins The Dad's Doomsday Guide to discuss all things survival, and what you and your family should be thinking about as you prepare. Wesley touches on several important topics including preparing/defending your home, the best ways to ensure ample food and water in case of an emergency, communication methods, and the list goes on. The main take away from Wesley's advice is to prepare. Run through plans with family and close friends ensuring the game plan is set no matter the emergency. Far too often survival tips focus on how many cans of food, or gallons of water one should have, but fail to touch upon the essential preparations that will guide you to make better choices for you and your family. Think of planning like a template, that you customize to fit the needs of those around you. Through our conversation I came to realize how woefully unprepared I am, and how I've been dragging my feet to ensure things are organized in case SHTF. Hopefully this conversation gets you thinking about what you can do to be prepared, and provides you with the information to get that ball rolling before doomsday! ► Check out Superesse Straps right here to get more information! ► Connect with Superesse Straps on Social Media! Ep 23Catching a Thief: Should You Fight? - DDG E23
EWelcome to The Dad's Doomsday Guide. Today Scott discusses what happened when two thieves attempted to steal the catalytic converter from his car just days ago. Having just sat down to eat, Scott ran outside to find a man underneath his vehicle sawing off the new catalytic converter, which was just stolen and replaced a couple months ago. Scott discusses his failure to be prepared, his failure to record the incident and his failure to ensure he was protected in case things escalated to a fight. Overall, Scott is just one big failure! Today's episode provides a good learning experience about the importance of preparing your home for such incidents, as well as mentally preparing to handle events such as these when they arise. Ep 22Dr. Shiloh & Dr. Scott: How to Defend Your Family From Internet Predators - DDG E22
EWelcome to the podcast! Today, Forensic Psychologists Dr. Shiloh and Dr. Scott return to The Dad's Doomsday Guide to discuss Internet Predators, what you should be looking out for, and how this destructive force infiltrates every device and app your child touches. In a world that sees technology increasing at a rapid rate, individuals and agencies trying to curb internet facilitated sexual offenses are immediately at a disadvantage. Hundreds of thousands of IP addresses access child pornography through VPN software in the US alone, impoverished families pimp out their children online for monetary gain, and that's just the start. Fortunately there are many people attempting to thwart entities producing and disseminating this material all over the world, and dedicated psychologists working to identify predators that target children online. Dr. Shiloh and Dr. Scott cover a lot of ground in this episode, but if you're up for more, please be sure to visit their podcast, LA Not So Confidential, to take a deep dive into this subject as well as many others. They won't disappoint. ► You can find more about them and their podcast here! Learn. Prepare. Survive. ► SUBSCRIBE/LISTEN: iTunes, Stitcher, Google Play, Spotify. Ep 21Dad's Story Time: IRS Scam & Lucky Knife Fights - DDG E21
EWelcome back everyone! Today The Dad's Doomsday Guide announces the winner of the Dad's Story Time contest. Jeremy! Jeremy sent in his story regarding an IRS scam, and offered a bit of wisdom and requested The DDG pursue deepfake technology topics as this tech becomes more advanced, and scams more convincing. We're happy to be sending him a nice little survival bag as his reward! Scott also chimes in on a terrifying knife fight his dad encountered many years ago, where a woman with HIV attempted to bite him. Covered in blood his father went home and realized a career change was needed. Scott highlighted the importance of recognizing when you are physically or mentally unable to perform a job, or it becomes too dangerous, realize that the most valuable things in life are time and relationships. Don't let obsessive goals or destructive forces to your personal well-being derail these coveted items. You don't get a do-over... Unless you believe in reincarnation! Ep 20Carjacking: Run or Fight? - DDG E20
EOn today's show Scott discusses what you can do if you are carjacked, and also touches upon today's Doomsday News! No one thinks they're going to get carjacked, I know I didn't. That's why when it happened I was completely unprepared. Luckily our dad saved our lives. But what if it happens to you? What would you do? I can tell you unless you've been extensively trained or have seen combat, having a gun pointed in your face will kick start your body into a fight-or-flight response. You're going to get tunnel vision, you'll probably beg for them to not shoot, you might panic, and the list goes on. Adding to this, what if your kids are in the car? What if they refuse to let you grab them? The horrible outcomes are endless. This is undoubtedly a horrific situation to be in, and rule number one, like so many other bad situations, is to try not to be in this predicament in the first place. That means being aware and trying to identify the threat before it backs you into a corner with only life-threatening options. But what is helpful (in addition to training with firearms, weapons and fighting styles) is to run through thought exercises. Walk through the possibilities, what you might be confronted with, what you might do. While it's not like the real life threat pointing a gun in your face, it does get the wheels turning and will hopefully prepare you to respond accordingly. Learn. Prepare. EWe're back! After a few weeks off we welcome paranormal investigators Britt Griffith and Frankie Fronk to the show. Britt got his start and is well known from his time on SyFy's "Ghost Hunters", while Frankie's background consists of in depth religious studies and demonology. We were happy to have both gentlemen on to discuss the veracity of paranormal claims, what and how people fake such occurrences, and how they feel about what these events actually are. Ep 17Dr. Shiloh & Dr. Scott: Serial Killers, Rapists & Child Predators - DDG E17
EWelcome Everyone! Today we have an awesome show focusing on the psychological make-up and behavior of serial killers, rapists and child predators. We know it's heavy, but Tim and I thought it necessary and relevant to discuss a topic that millions of people show fascination with every day, i.e., True Crime. We were lucky enough to have Forensic Psychologists, Dr. Shiloh and Dr. Scott join us to dissect the latest research and findings that give us insight into the minds of these criminals. Having spent over a decade working with convicted murderers, rapists and child abusers, Dr. Shiloh and Dr. Scott give an honest take about what you can look out for as a parent, spouse, child, etc., as well as the odds of coming across someone from one of these categories. While we know its a dark topic, we want to shed light on a subject many people don't know much about or choose to ignore in some cases. We sincerely hope it gives you the knowledge needed to make smarter decisions for your children and loved ones. Knowledge is power. ► If you'd like to check out more from Dr. Shiloh and Dr. Scott please visit there website HERE! On a more upbeat note, how about the New York Times story regarding UFO's!? Apparently there's reason to believe we're not alone. Tim and I briefly discuss this at the top of the episode, and we'll be looking to have more info on this in the coming weeks and months. 2020 is one wild year. Ep 16Sgt. Harry Drucker: How to Survive a Mass Shooting - DDG E16
EToday on The Dad's Doomsday Guide Tim details his exciting encounter with Covid-19, giving us some odd symptoms that have popped up with the virus, and his wonderful path to recovery. The weirdest thing by far is the loss of smell, and some nerve pain that cropped up a few days into his illness. At the time of this podcast, he still hasn't regained his sense of smell, and cannot enjoy his baby's poop-filled diapers. Lucky man. Scott and Tim also discuss the ongoing statue destruction, and attempt to alter/erase historical objects people find objectionable. What is troublesome is not necessarily the defacement of confederate statues (who likes losers anyway!), but the vandalism of the founding fathers and even abolitionists. There appears to be a growing movement that Scott and Tim feel is fueled by Neo-Marxists, and is being used to create further conflict between classes and lead to an eventual destruction of capitalism in America. Sounds heavy, we know. Sgt. Harry Drucker once again blesses us with his presence to speak about Mass Shootings, and how to increase your odds of survival if you're confronted with this horrible situation. While some things may appear obvious, others may not, and hopefully the information provided gives you and your family a better understanding of how you might react, and what you can think about to prepare you for this event. Ep 15Sgt. Harry Drucker: How to Survive a Hostage Situation - DDG E15
EToday on The Dad's Doomsday Guide Scott and Tim welcome Hostage Negotiator, Sgt. Harry Drucker to the podcast. Sgt. Drucker laid out what it's like to navigate a hostage/crisis situation and what he has experienced over his long career. It was fascinating to hear not only insights into what actually takes place during this type of crisis, but also to hear some of the humorous stories that come with the job. While hostage/crisis situations can be extremely dangerous, we hope this interview provides insight into what you can do if you ever find yourself in this frightening situation. Learn. Prepare. Ep 14Dr. Eben Alexander: Near Death Experiences - DDG E14
EToday on The Dad's Doomsday Guide Dr. Eben Alexander joins the podcast to discuss his near death experience, and the ongoing research into this fascinating phenomenon. Dr. Alexander was kind enough to share his thoughts on consciousness, dying and the afterlife. What struck me most was the emphasis on reincarnation. Being someone who always scoffed at the idea, discussing why this may be one of the keys to understanding this world, consciousness and suffering was eye-opening. Viewing the mind as an antenna that is tapping into this river of consciousness is an intriguing thought. One that I will be sure to explore in the future. ► Dr. Alexander gave several links for further reading and research, but a great place to start is his website: Dr. Eben Alexander. ► Dr. Alexander's book, Proof of Heaven. ► Dr. Alexander's book, Living in a Mindful Universe. Ep 13Kai Blackwood: Selling Your Soul to the Devil - DDG E13
EKai Blackwood is on the show to talk about his participation in a documentary, that required him to sell his soul to the devil! Scary. Tim and I sat down with Kai and spoke about a wide range of topics within the occult, and were surprised to discover Kai's hesitancy in believing an entity like the devil exists. What was more fascinating was what happened to him after the documentary completed, and also our further discussion about what the hell is actually out there. What does haunt us? Is it something intelligent, an energy, a force from another dimension? It was a fun topic, and I believe one that Tim and I will definitely continue researching. I believe one of the most important points about this podcast was Kai's advice. First, don't try to sell your soul to the devil, it doesn't attract good energy! And second, if you're experiencing such issues as hauntings, or bad luck, it's time to clean up your life. Whether that's literal junk in your house, items that aren't giving off good vibes, or psychological blocks that are causing you to spiral downward, now is the moment to work on those things. Especially since the Coronavirus is keeping all of us indoors and away from each other. So much fun! Ep 12The Dad's Panel: Coronavirus, Conspiracy and UFOs - DDG E12
EWelcome to another Dad's Panel! We were happy to have George Schminky back in the building, or more accurately, over the web, to discuss a wide range of topics during the Coronavirus quarantine. We even touched on socialism! I know fun. ► If you'd like to read the article I referenced regarding Scandinavian countries and Socialism. ► Check out Wonders in the Sky by Jacques Vallée. ► The Near Death Experience book I referenced, Proof of Heaven. I believe one of the most fascinating aspects of this discussion was George's UFO encounter. In addition to being similar to some other crafts that have been spoken about (the Tic Tac videos), it was made even more incredible by the fact George painted a picture of a similar object seven years earlier. A photo of that painting is right here! Talk to everyone soon. ► SUBSCRIBE/LISTEN: iTunes, Stitcher, Google Play, Spotify. Ep 11We're Back: Cancer and the Coronavirus - DDG E11
EWe're back! After a couple month hiatus The Dad's Doomsday Guide returns. Tim was absent from this episode as he just had a baby, and is busy not sleeping during this lovely and peaceful time. Two main points were addressed in this episode. Our dad's battle, and ultimate passing from cancer, and the Coronavirus. Over the past year our dad had struggled with an undiagnosed illness, progressively getting worse until a diagnosis was made a day after Christmas. It was heartbreaking, frustrating and led us to question the entire cancer industry and how it operates. While we believe there are many good people trying the best they can to cure this dreadful disease, it is ultimately controlled by money. While this isn't a bad thing (as money can help fuel the desire to find a drug that can stop cancer), it begins to poison the search for a cure when alternative possibilities are ignored due to the lack of financial gain. I believe we directly experienced this, and it was the most painful process of our lives. I think the biggest lesson here (and survival tip) is to be your own advocate. Trust your gut, and don't become discouraged when doctors serve you bad news, but fail to offer or entertain any alternative treatment. Your life is on the line, and we can tell you from experience, no one will ever be looking out for you more than yourself and your family. To survive something like this, surround yourself with people you trust, who love you, and that will give you the support you need. You deserve nothing less. ► Check out Jane McLelland's book, How to Starve Cancer (I misspoke during the podcast regarding the title). Second on the list was Coronavirus. It is something we should pay attention to, and prepare for in a responsible way. That is not being done by many people. There is a panic in the air, I believe due to the crazed media coverage, and also the fear of the unknown (since this is a new virus). The vast majority of us will be fine, but the behavior of some (hoarding food and supplies, ignoring self-quarantines, ignoring social distancing) are putting those at risk in far greater danger. We all have people close to us who are elderly or have underlying health conditions, and we must think things through before giving into fear or knee-jerk reactions. The goal is to slow the spread of the virus, mitigate the impact we all have on medical facilities, and make sure those at risk are first in line. I think that's totally possible. If you feel yourself getting overwhelmed or on the verge of a panic attack, turn off the news for a bit, take a deep breath and relax. ► Get up to date info through the CDC. Above all everyone, be smart, stay safe, and give your loved ones a huge hug. I can speak for my whole family when I say, life is precious, it can be gone in an instant, and we should never take today for granted. Ep 10Dad's Story Time: Knock! Knock! - DDG E10
EHello Listeners! Late Wednesday post this week as a long weekend put Tim and I into relaxation mode. Today, we look at my encounter with an aggressive door-to-door salesman (I think that's what he was), and point out the foolishness of me answering the door (with no peephole) while holding my baby. Not a good scenario for a fight. Fortunately it was all verbal (except for him shoving in the door), and demonstrated a very important lesson. It exposed the glaring need I had to get back into martial arts for not only refreshing my fighting skills, but gaining confidence that I could handle a situation if it presented itself. Biggest lesson of the day, walk away from a fight if you can, it's not worth the injury, the potential harm, and all the garbage that comes with it. But for the moments you can't walk away, be prepared. Start now, and whether it's tomorrow, next week, next year, or never, you won't have to worry what will happen if you're forced into a physical confrontation. You'll be ready, because you prepared for it. Stay sexy my friends! Ep 9The Exorcist: The Power of a Name - DDG E09
EWelcome back everyone! In this episode we cover some hot topics including Tim's encounter with an individual on hallucinogenics, who subsequently tossed Tim and his partner around like rag dolls until they finally subdued him. I wanted Tim to share this story due to the subject matter we were getting into with Father John. Super human strength. This is often referenced by those claiming someone was demonically possessed, and is also shown in several possession films! One interesting point I've thought a lot about is what exactly is being unlocked when taking these drugs, and how super human strength becomes part of the equation. Also strange, is what the demon is doing to the human body, to give it super human strength. Could each situation be tapping into a strange reserve of unlimited potential in the human brain? It's an interesting question and I believe a reminder to never underestimate the power of the mind... Or the creepy power of a demon. Tim and I want to reiterate that if you or someone you know are experiencing what you believe are supernatural issues, please seek appropriate help, whether that be from your local community, religious leaders, or medical professionals. If you truly believe something sinister is at work, get some backup! ► If you'd like to know more about the Catholic Church and blessed salt. ► If you'd like to know more about sexual demons (because we're sure you will). ► The Rite by Matt Baglio. ► An Exorcist Explains the Demonic by Father Amorth. ► My Battle Against Satan by Father Amorth. ► SUBSCRIBE/LISTEN: iTunes, Stitcher, Google Play, Spotify. Ep 8Dad's Story Time: A Standoff in Vegas - DDG E08
EWelcome back everyone! We hope the holidays were great for all our listeners. Tim and I just recorded some brand new interviews this past week and are looking forward to sharing them with you in the coming podcasts. But for today, Tim and I wanted to give you another Dad's Story Time as we've once again been forced to travel due to some unexpected news. We promise we'll be back with some long episodes very soon. On this episode, Tim details our confrontation with someone who was either trying to rob us, carjack us, or kill us. Luckily, my dad was there to save the day so we never found out what the ultimate goal was. Whether you're for the ownership of firearms or you're not, this was a clear instance in our lives where my dad having a gun saved us. I'm not sure how clear that detail was in the story, but the would be attacker was aware my dad pulled out his own gun. It was terrifying, and I can only imagine what would have happened if my dad wasn't there. He was our real-life hero in every way. Ep 7Dad's Story Time: Ah, Venice - DDG E07
EWhat's up everyone! Welcome to a new episode format we're adding to The Dad's Doomsday Guide Podcast! Each week we'll be posting a Dad's Story Time episode where in 3 minutes or less, we must tell a story about what happened to us, or someone we know, and give a word of wisdom at the conclusion. These will range from serious to extremely humorous so be sure to check them out, and write in if you have a story you'd like us to share on the air! [email protected] On this episode, Scott and his family found themselves in a Venice restaurant, when a confrontational individual decided to cause a problem for the staff. Fortunately, nothing serious occurred, but it was a good wake up call for Scott, and hopefully gives everyone out there something to think about. Ep 6The Exorcist: Demons Hunt in Packs - DDG E06
EHi Everybody! Thank you guys for coming back to hear Part 2 of the Exorcist interview. This discussion was quite interesting for Tim and I because we were able to get into actual cases Fr. John had experienced, some of which were quite unsettling. One part of the conversation that stuck out to me was the warnings about using occult objects, such as Ouija Boards or wands. Now I'm a huge fan of Harry Potter, I can't stress that enough. HUGE fan! I've read all the books and seen all the films. I remember I was a sophomore in high school when I started the book series, and I burned through them as quickly as they came out. For me, this discussion raised questions about fear, control, and truth. As many people already know, fear is a very effective way of controlling people. So as I thought about what Fr. John said in the days following, I remember thinking how easily it would be to convince people to follow a religion if you could scare them enough. Insert Satan here. But on the other hand, what if Fr. John's stories were true, as well as the stories from other exorcists? What if kids practicing magic did leave them susceptible to dark forces? Obviously no one knows, and all we can do is go off our own experience. Harry Potter wasn't around when I was little, but we had plenty of imaginative games, including pretending we were active participants in Star Wars, using the Force, etc. We would try to move objects without having to physically touch them. Now you could ask, what's really different between that and using a wand? I would say nothing. Personally I believe Harry Potter is innocent fun. Kids have wild imaginations, Tim and I were no exception, and from what I've read and watched about J.K. Rowling, I don't believe her to be a Satanist. Since I write quite a bit for narrative projects, I can say that sometimes words do flow from you when you're in the story and you've done countless hours of research and outlines. I've seen several behind the scenes videos where Rowling shows countless pages of notes and outlines as she worked her way through the books. It didn't look like it was easy to me. Quite the opposite. All that being said, if there is a child who is in pain, who is tormented and is honestly and earnestly seeking for answers in darker places, maybe those games are a way for the devil to access them. If all this really does exist, I don't think that's far fetched at all. But like everything else in regards to children, it comes down to more than them playing with an object, such as their emotional and physical well being. We'll be sure to touch on this during our next Dad's Panel. Ep 5The Exorcist: The Devil is Watching You - DDG E05
EHave you seen The Exorcist? I still haven't. That's right. We're doing a podcast season on demonic possession and I haven't seen that movie. I've seen clips, but I'm still too frightened to sit down in a dark room and submerge myself into that film. It was a definite challenge to take on the subject of demonic possession, but here we are. Tim and I both knew that if we were going to cover this topic, one of the first people we needed to speak to was a real-life exorcist. Father John is just that, and was willing to sit down with us for a lengthy interview covering everything from how he became one, to what he believes are the greatest threats to the human soul. Here is where Tim and I are torn between believing, or not. While this show is not about debunking beliefs, we do come across that in our conversations. It's completely natural and necessary, to have an honest discussion if what we are listening to is plausible. There are many charlatans out there, many people seeking to gain fame or money by fueling superstitions or hoaxes. But when you sit across from someone who seeks none of those things, what are you left with? What would be a priest's motivation to deceive you? To gain converts? To keep the belief in their religion alive and well? Or do they sincerely believe what they say is true, because they have witnessed evil in a way most people never will. It's hard to say because how many of us would actually go into a room where an exorcism is occurring, to really find out for ourselves? I've spoken to many of my friends who aren't believers in any sort of god and generally express disbelief when it comes to ghosts, demons, and other supernatural phenomena. But when I ask them if they would go into a room where an exorcism is occurring, they immediately backpedal. Why is that? Is it our superstitious history as a human race, something locked into our DNA? Or is it because deep down we know something else is there, even though we can't quite put our finger on it, and the risk is simply not worth it. On last weeks Dad's Panel, I believe Darius and George said it best, we don't really know what it is, but something is there. Whether it be energy, or an entity, something lies in that small percentage of legitimate cases where no other explanation exists. Sure, maybe it's a psychological cause we haven't yet discovered, but come on, really? Every single one of these instances will eventually be chalked up to psychological imbalances in the future? That sounds rather hopeful. But hey, anything is possible. This is why we choose to keep an open mind, wherever the evidence may lead, and to whatever conclusion it may be. Until that time, I believe it is wise to listen to what these individuals have to say, the ones who are going into the rooms where evil dwells, to wage what they believe is a war for the human soul. We can't thank Father John enough for giving us his time to answer our questions and hopefully give you, our listeners, more insight into the life of an exorcist. ► Please rate and review our show and help us continue to grow! ► If you'd like to know more about the Oberammergau Passion Play. Ep 4The Dad's Panel: Ghost Sex is Real - DDG E04
EHey Everyone! On today's show Scott and Tim O'Hara welcome SFX Make-Up Artist, George Schminky, and Chemist Darius Faizi to the podcast. Is there something after death? Does consciousness survive? Those are the questions we ask as Tim and I try to keep the conversation from derailing into total chaos. Tim and I have known both Darius and George for several years, and what attracts me most to having conversations with our friends like this, is that they're honest. We're questioning, doubting, explaining our fears, and seeking to tell each other stories in an effort to better understand what is out there. While we always will continue to have experts on the show to provide in depth analysis into certain topics, it's important we don't forget what dads, parents, families live through and experience every day. We believe these conversations are a reminder of that. And also a reminder of the staggering immaturity adult men can demonstrate. Through our conversation I believe you can see some of the biggest concerns affecting not only parents but family members, and that's protecting your loved ones. Whether it's a sick relative or keeping your children safe, it's something we all think about. Unfortunately, sometimes evil finds a way to rear its ugly head despite your best efforts, as demonstrated by Tim's story about his abusive baby sitter. As we've mentioned before, the world seems to be an insane place sometimes, filled with chaos and unknowns. But if you are able to do the little things to prepare, it can give you some mental relief and confidence. Set up a security system in your house, own a firearm (depending on your personal belief and laws in your state or country), take a self-defense course, and the list goes on. Find what makes you feel confident, comfortable, and in control of your life and the lives of your family members… And then go have fun, go enjoy every second you have to spend on this earth with the people you love. The older we get the more we realize, time is the most valuable thing in the world, don't waste it. Don't waste it worrying about what could happen. There's a fine line between being prepared and being paranoid. ► Don't forget to check out the bonus content for this episode! ► If you're interested in tracking your child, or any loved one for that matter, check out Life360! ► Securing your home, ADT is well known, and there are many others including Simplisafe, which we own. ► If you haven't seen Tim using Patti Negri's Dowsing Rods, check it out! ► SUBSCRIBE/LISTEN: iTunes, Stitcher, Google Play, Spotify. Ep 3The Psychic Medium: When Demons Come Calling - DDG E03
ETim and Scott discuss a nanny cam video that's gone viral, depicting a translucent ghost walking past a baby in a crib. The parents placed the nanny cam after seeing large scratches on the child's face, and discovered the terrifying apparition shortly after. This got us into the discussion of what are the rules for ghosts, demons, etc.? We've seen them bite, scratch, cause bruising and so on. Can they kill us? If not, why? If there are rules who's making them? Are they from a more powerful entity, or are their limitations because of energy consumption and the ability to cross over only to a certain extent? Tim and I concluded that no one really has the answer, but reaffirmed our commitment to try and find the best information possible as this show progresses. We also tease the possibility that we will be getting a very special guest on the show to discuss evil at its most sinister level. A Catholic Exorcist. That's right ladies and gentlemen, we will let you know if that's going to happen very soon. Psychic Medium Patti Negri rejoins the conversations for part 2 of her interview and things get strange immediately. Patti shows us Dowsing Rods, and asks it several questions allowing it to answer by crossing for "yes", or not crossing for "no." Tim and I thought it was interesting, but not a slam-dunk of supernatural forces until she let Tim use them. Things changed quickly as you can see in the video! Patti concludes her time with The DDG by giving her top tips on what to do if something dark is haunting or possessing you and you want it out. So please make sure you check out Patti's Doomsday Guide below. If you wish to contact Patti Negri. Check out her new book, Old World Magick for the Modern World. Subscribe to the podcast everyone! Ep 2The Psychic Medium: Entering the Home of a Witch - DDG E02
EScott and Tim O'Hara discuss some recent parenting issues, including Tim's daughter running into Mexico, and Scott being chased by a gargantuan wasp in Disneyland, barely escaping with his life. Psychic Medium and Good Witch, Patti Negri, then joins The DDG for part 1 of her interview, to discuss the spiritual realm and what you can do if something sinister is at work. Find Patti's book here, Old World Magick for the Modern World, packed full of tips and tricks. The thought of entering a witch's house was quite unsettling, giving Tim and I reservations if we would come out the same way we went in! Luckily, Patti was extremely gracious with her time and knowledge, and gave us valuable information regarding the topic of hauntings, and demonic possession, including her belief that Ouija Boards should not be sold in toy stores… Because they are, in fact, portals to the other side. What struck us both was Patti's openness in interacting with the spiritual realm. Being Catholic, Tim and I were mostly taught to be wary of that, but Patti stressed you would know intuitively, if something was bad or good. This "gut feeling" would guide you in deciding whether or not the entity you were dealing with was harmful. Fortunately, neither one of us had a bad gut feeling while in Patti's house! Patti does own a one hundred year old haunted doll named Belle, which bothered us significantly. Patti removed an evil spirit from the doll a while back, but explained a little girl still lived inside. This led Tim and I to discuss at the top of the show, why is it that no Barbie doll, Cabbage Patch Kid or My Buddy has ever been possessed (though My Buddy does look very similar to Chucky)? Check out the short film about the possessed doll on Amazon Prime. Or you can find it out Youtube with lesser quality. Also, Nightmare at 20,000 Feet, which is awesome and by the same author above, but a little harder to find online. This is the last ten minutes. Remember to get in touch and subscribe to the podcast, and don't forget to check out part 2 of Patti's interview!
