Laura Hoover's mother donated a kidney when she was a child, and it stuck with her all her life. As a nurse she saw firsthand the devastation of kidney disease and the desperate need for donors, so she decided she’d do it. Along the way, she was even able to change her hospitals policy for living donors and made history for the state of South Carolina. An incredible story of human kindness and sacrifice.
