Jesus uses many parables throughout His time recorded on earth. He compares His kingdom in Matthew 13 to a treasure hidden in a field that is purchased by a man with all he has and a merchant who finds one great pearl and sells all he has to buy it. I recently finished a Bible study on the ten commandments; the author encouraged us to obey God's Word joyfully. The common perception of freedom is the practice of license and liberty from bondage. Freedom is assumed to be a life without rules, living for the moment and the self without accountability or constraint.
