The Context of White Supremacy welcomes Dr. Jeremy S. Hoffman. A professor at L. Douglas Wilder School of Government and Public Affairs at Virginia Commonwealth University, Dr. Hoffman is the Chief Scientist at the Science Museum of Virginia. He holds a PhD in geology from Oregon State University. Dr. Hoffman conducts lectures for all audiences where he explains how climate shifts over decades and centuries. Earlier this year, he shared data documenting the correlation between redlining and extreme heat. Meaning restricted and dilapidated residential areas where black people forced to live for decades, are now five to twenty degrees warmer in comparison to wealthier White areas.
