Kimberly Rivers Roberts visits The Context of White Supremacy. Roberts is a native of New Orleans, Louisiana and a survivor of the breeched levees and Hurricane Katrina. We'll explore her documentary film, Trouble The Water (2008). Kimberly and her husband recorded their final hours in New Orleans before the city was drowned on August 29th, 2005. Danny Glover helped produce the project, and the New York Times and The Times-Picayune published flattering reviews. The film delivers raw footage of the couple's house being submerged as toxic flood waters consume the city. The film shows Kimberly and her family courageously fighting to rescue neighbors and black elders. We'll get her reflections on how the catastrophe altered her hometown and her life.
