The Context of White Supremacy welcomes Anthony Fabian live from the United Kingdom. A White filmmaker, we'll discuss his 2008 film, SKIN, which examines the life trauma and Racism Sandra Laing experienced. Laing's parents, Abraham and Sannie Laing, are White Afrikaners. Sandra was born with a large quantity of melanin. In fact, Sandra Laing was so dark, some speculated that her mother had an affair with a "kaffir." DNA results suggest Abraham and Sannie are the biological parents. After bleaching creams and court proceedings to examine her racial classification, Sandra eventually married a black African male, and is pretty much officially "black" at this point.
