Show Notes
Good morning! I'm Aaron Jolly, and welcome to the Connecticut Weather Podcast. It's Saturday, February 19th.
Folks, winter is being polite today. No tantrums. No drama. Just a clean, crisp Saturday that feels like February finally read the room. Step outside and you'll feel 30 degrees along the coast. Head inland to central Connecticut and it drops to 28. Eastern Connecticut splits the difference at 29 degrees with a few extra clouds hanging around.
Here's the thing. Winds are barely a whisper at 2 miles an hour. No face stinging gusts. No trash cans rolling down the driveway. Highs stay in the upper 20s to near 30 degrees. That's about 8 degrees below normal, but after the deep freezes we've survived this winter? This almost feels like a gift.
Tonight you're looking at upper teens to low 20s. Air quality is excellent, so if you bundle up, it's a gorgeous night for stargazing. Low tide hits at 6:20 tonight near New London. Those wide open sandy stretches are perfect for a brisk walk if you're brave enough.
Tomorrow brings more of the same. Sunny skies. Highs in the low 30s. Quiet and steady.
Here's your heads up for the week ahead. We're in a holding pattern. No storms. No wild swings. Just a slow climb toward the upper 30s by midweek, which honestly feels almost spring like compared to where we've been. And you'll want to notice the daylight stretching out. We're gaining nearly 3 minutes a day now. Sunrise this morning was 6:39. Sunset at 5:32. Those late afternoon golden hours are getting noticeably longer.
So. If this podcast helps you plan your weekend, share it with a neighbor who could use the heads up.
Stay safe out there. That's your forecast — we'll be back tomorrow. Take care!
