Good afternoon. Colorado. I'm Aaron Jolly. If you're enjoying this sunshine right now. Savor it. We're about to hit the weather rewind button hard. In the next 24 hours. Step outside and you're looking at 66 degrees under blue skies. The Front Range climbs to 70 this afternoon. Southern Front Range hits 68. And the Western Slope reaches 58. Sounds perfect, right? Here's the catch. Winds gust to 25 miles an hour. And humidity's dropping into the teens. That combo means critical fire danger across the plains and San Luis Valley through sunset. Keep those grills covered and cigarettes snuffed. Then midnight flips the switch. A cold front barrels through and temperatures crash to freezing. Snow starts in the high country late tonight, then spreads to the foothills and I-25 corridor after sunrise Friday. The mountains and Palmer Divide take the brunt — 6 to 14 inches up high, 19 degrees to 19 degrees along the Divide. Denver and the metro area see lighter totals, mostly 1 to 3 inches, but Friday morning roads will be slick regardless. Leave early or work from home if you can. Snow wraps up Friday afternoon. Highs barely crack the mid-30s — 36 along the Front Range, 38 in the south, 46 out west. North winds gust to 24 miles an hour. That's the kind of cold that sneaks through your jacket. Saturday brings the recovery. Sunshine returns, temperatures rebound to the low 50s. And the weekend stays dry. Sunday warms into the low to mid-60s. By Monday, we're back in the low 70s — 19 degrees to 15 degrees above normal. That warmth holds through midweek, though a slight chance of showers returns Tuesday.
