Show Notes

Good morning! I'm Aaron Jolly. And welcome to the Colorado Weather Podcast — it's Sunday, February 22nd. Step outside right now and you'll feel that crisp 19 degrees. But here's the thing: today is just the warm-up act. By Wednesday, we're flirting with 70 degrees. Yeah, you heard that right. Seventy. In February. Colorado's about to give us weather whiplash. Right now, the Front Range sits at 19 degrees but climbs to 51 by 5 P.M. That's a 32-degree jump in one day. Down in the Southern Front Range, you start at 17 and hit 48 by 4 P.M. Out on the Western Slope, 18 degrees this morning, peaking at 48 by 3 P.M. Everywhere stays dry and sunny today. Tonight dips to the mid-20s along the Front Range, low 20s in the south, upper teens out west. Monday cranks up the heat. Front Range hits 66 degrees — 15 above normal for late February. Southern Front Range reaches 64. Western Slope climbs to 53. It'll feel like someone fast-forwarded us to April. Here's your heads-up for the week ahead. Tuesday brings the warmest day — near 70 along the Front Range. But Wednesday? A system sweeps in with rain by late afternoon and a rain-snow mix overnight. Mountains could see several inches. Thursday and Friday dry out, mid-60s and sunny, but winds stick around. Fire danger stays elevated, especially along I-25. Saturday cools slightly to low 60s. Sunday's still a question mark — models are split on whether we drop to the 40s or stay warm. Oh. And avalanche danger remains high in the backcountry today. Check colorado.gov/avalanche before you head out. Alright. If this forecast helped you plan your week, share it with a friend who could use the heads-up. That's your forecast — we'll be back tomorrow.
