The workgroup meets monthly to identify and work towards resolution on all implementation issues related to securing, and protecting health information across the industry.. This week, Matthew welcomes Amy Bassano, Deputy Director of the Center for Medicare and Medicaid Innovation (CMS Innovation Center) at the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services. Created 10 years ago through the ACA, the Center (CMMI) is tasked to test alternative payment models in Medicare and Medicaid. Amy offers a review of the past 10 years, how the pandemic affected value based care, and addressing the future through innovation, specifically artificial intelligence. Recently the center completed its Artificial Intelligence (AI) Health Outcomes Challenge.
