JACKSON, Miss. (WLBT) - Former pro WWE wrestler Ted DiBiase Jr. has been found not guilty on all counts in Mississippi’s largest-ever welfare fraud scandal.
He was accused of stealing nearly $3 million meant to help needy families in the state.
Jurors deliberated for over four hours on Friday morning, ultimately leading to a not guilty verdict.
Prosecutors said DiBiase used the federal welfare funds he received from MCEC and FRC to purchase a $1.4 million home in Madison County, a $55,000 pontoon boat, a $34,000 Kubota tractor, and a $40,000 truck, among other purchases.
