The pandemic may be behind us, but school counselors are seeing students with decreased social skills, less emotional regulation, and trouble understanding their place on campus. Krista Gravelle is a school counselor who shares how parents can approach these challenges by providing care, consistency, and consequences with love. She explains how insulating our children negatively impacts their emotional intelligence and future success.

The Classical Academies will be making changes to high school math beginning in Fall 2023. Math Coordinator Andrew Shields explains how Data Science, Financial Algebra, and AP Pre Calculus will provide more opportunities for students to be prepared for college and career pathways. These changes will help students develop critical thinking,problem-solving, and quantitative reasoning skills.

Stephanie is a Virtual Teacher at The Classical Academies and explains how this program supports homeschooling families, provides meaningful connections, and engages students in a flexible environment. Currently serving grades 1-8, the Virtual Program provides a fun, safe, educational experience with social activities such as park days, lunchtime meet-ups, and field trips to create lasting social connections and friendships.

Executive dysfunction disrupts the brain's ability to control thoughts, emotions, and behavior and is related to conditions like Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD). Korrine Hilgeman, a teacher at e3 Consulting, works closely with students with ADHD. She offers resources and tips to help students stay focused, more organized, positive, and engaged. She empowers students to help them discover life skills, job skills, and what they hope to accomplish in the future.

Molly Griffin is a homeschooling mom of three and foster parent to a baby girl. She explains the process, requirements, and challenges of becoming a foster parent in California. Molly shares how foster parenting has impacted her family and provides them with the opportunity to teach her children to be compassionate and share with others less fortunate.
